Burleson breaks arm in car accident

Joel Zumaya hurting his arm getting a box out of the attic....RIGHT!

I remember that excuse from Zumaya, and wondered how a "heavy" box in his dad's attic would fall so accurately and at a sufficient distance to injure only his shoulder. Most if not all people's, (especially an athlete) reaction to a falling box would be to raise their arm(s) up to deflect it, even if it meant that they would need to release and drop whatever was in their hands or were carrying.

Later on, there was a rumor making the rounds on the internet that Joel actually injured his shoulder while driving his 4 wheeler dune buggy, when he lost control of it and it had flipped, causing him to fall/fly off it and land awkwardly into a dune.

With certain clauses written into their contract sports people will continue to lie so they can get paid.

This team is so dumb. They should have taken a WR in Round 2 instead of Darius Slay. Oh look at me, I'm talking in hindsight and bashing the Lions So dumb. They should have known Burleson was a bad driver from the scouting reports. Screw you Shack Harris and Brian Xanders.

It actually is pretty effing dumb to throw the ball 800 times a year and not have a #2 WR since 2010.

It was a Happy's Pizza & Pub for an appearance with Tulloch. I could see that place being open until 2am. Could have stayed until closing and then take a pizza home..

ya 2010 was when burleson actually ran routes. Now he just stands there, turns toward staff, and sticks his hands out on every play.

You cant even help yourself, can you? Complaining about Burleson makes no sense. He's played well this season, his numbers prove it.

Can't stay that's what he does but against Arizona it sure looked like that's what he was doing..

Well we did have a good streak going.

I think the NFL network said he was at another teammates event. Not sure about that but I hope he can recover and play this year again..

Wait a sec...so Tully had a PR event and Nate joined in, I'm good with that, but WTF are the Lions PR people doing setting up something that would go until 2:00 AM during the season?

Ugh, even if you want to apply the line of thought that these grown men are allowed to do whatever, whenever...if this was setup by the Lions PR people they are flat out ass clowns for having it go so late. I've done VIP tours with athletes who went to the ESPN Zone at Disney and not a single time did they go there at that hour, and the vast majority of them were there during their respective offseason.

The chances of a drunk driver being on the road are highest between midnight and 3am. Why would the Lions put their players on the road during that timeframe in order to do a PR event? Yes, I know alcohol was not a factor this time, but why would the organization not take such factors into account when scheduling these events? Not to mention this is during the season and guys should be striving to maintain a more even sleep schedule to optimize their performance.

Whatever, can't change the past and I'm pretty sure this won't change any policies the Lions have in place regarding this sort of thing because they are just too fucking stupid to see the potential problem.

And how FUCKING DARE the Lions not send contractors to these athletes home to staple bubblewrap to the walls and childproof the cabinets and stoves?

Cell Phones?! BRAIN RADIATION!

CARS?!?! No way any athlete should drive himself.. too dangerous.

Bath Tub? Not an option. Swimming pool? No way.

Friends?!?! These guys are payed to play football, not have any kind of a life. How dare they assume they can actually enjoy the millions they earn!?!

From now on all members of the team must live in the dorms at Ford Field, with padding on the floors and walls. They must eat in the cafeteria with their fingers because silverware might be too dangerous, and they have to wait 20 minutes after being served to eat so they don't burn their fingers on hot foot. They are allowed to leave for 2 hours, once per year, to see a G-Rated movie, but must take the team bus, and be escorted by a team of bodyguards.

And they are never allowed to remove their helmets or pads again, even in the shower, because the most unsafe room in the house is the bathroom between the hours of midnight and 3am.

And until they retire, we pay someone to wipe their asses for them too... no sense in a non-football related wrist injury from cleaning the backside without stretching first.

whatever, broyles is the savior anyways. He can run so fast in a pool a wave appears. It was only a matter of time before he supplanted Nate in the slot anyways. Remember that one time he caught like 3 passes?! HEck ya....get ready to see a whole lot more 3 catch games. Fuck yes!

Ha, funny...except that with the history of car accidents, they should be driven around.
