Zimmer was a no brainer to Minnesota. So with Detroit and Cleveland left Mayhew could have taken more time. He could have waited through the SB.

Who else did you want really beside the wiz? Zimmer and Quinn are both DC's and I think the organization felt like going with an offensive minded HC instead of another unproven DC like Schwartz. It was always going to be either Wiz or Caldwell and if you believe what Mayhew says they didn't even have a preference between the two.

I know they wanted to go with an OC so maybe there wasn't anyone better. It just seemed rushed..I would have liked Roman myself..
