Coaching Search Recap

Nobody said they were as important as a sack. Just that they were a serious stat. Of course i eant the sack but ill take pressure in a QBs face all day .... at least theyre getting there

Pressure all day? Because we pressure 60 times a game. You're reaching..we need more sacks..

4th and one..before a punt, well at least we got there.

I'm pretty sure I remember somebody saying just that. But that was back around the mid point of the season when some of us were being told "we're in first place, chill out and enjoy it." So maybe my memory is hazy.

And as far as "at least they're getting there", if they're not sacking the quarterback, they're not getting there at all really. If you're getting sacks AND hurries, then I'm with you. But if you're getting a couple hurries and rarely getting sacks, I don't think it can be viewed as "getting there". Just my opinion.

I'm not just happy with "getting there". Of course I want the sack but if a defensive player can disrupt the QB with pressure and hurries, ill take it. Our DLine was good at "disrupting" opposing QBs is all I meant. Too bad our secondary blows chunks or they would have made more plays.

God forbid I don't evaluate every NFL player correctly like you and LKp. As far as your first sentence when did I say anyone does? Again, another post where you assume something.

Evaluate players? A n retard with a watermelon shell as a helmet on his head would know that Bell has huge value and upside, and is a big part of our offense. You? Not so much....

Gotta bring more pressure. It would help confuse opposing QB's and single up Suh and Fairley from double teams.

So an undrafted RB and everyone knew he had huge upside? After being with 4 other teams, Philly twice - and waived three times. Yeah okay nostradamus.

:bs:

Im talking about the last couple of years, you dumbass. You're the one who said he was worthless and you said it this year !!! Which makes you look like a complete fn fool. Stop trying to spin this because you finally realized how much of a fn idiot you sounded like.

So, when does Whiz get hired?

I'll go with Tuesday

Wednesday...Press conference...but Schefter likely tweets it by tomorrow night.

Nonono. It's a no brainer, you knew he was a stud 3 years ago.

Three years ago??? Its official, youre full blown retard eh. Youre by far, the biggest fn idiot on these boards. Just because you look like a complete clueless fn dummy you try and spin this like i knew he was great coming out of college ...lol.

The guys running Lions organization are a bunch of idiots... We need to find a coach who will coach a 4-3...

Yup like a 4-3 has gotten the Lions anywhere.. Yup tons of super bowl appearances in our past..

And switching to a 3-4 gets us a Super Bowl? The idiot train is in full motion i see. Holy fucking shitballs. lol

Grantland article critical of both Wisenhunt and Caldwell, suggesting that Wisenhunt would have found a better fit as a HC with the Lions.

"The Titans were rumored to be interested in Seattle defensive coordinator Dan Quinn to the extent that they were described as “smitten,” but Quinn’s unavailability by virtue of Seattle’s playoff run might have pressed Tennessee to opt for its second choice before he went somewhere else."

So it appears that both the Lions and the Titans wound up signing their second choice (despite what Lewand said prior to Caldwell's introductory presser this afternoon). Their lack of patience and fear of losing out to other teams who also were/are HC-hunting led to what likely amounts to panic-hirings.

Pardon me if this link has already been posted elsewhere, but I did not see it in any threads that I have browsed here.

Zimmer was a no brainer to Minnesota. So with Detroit and Cleveland left Mayhew could have taken more time. He could have waited through the SB.
