The CDC if this was all a zombie movie:

or, maybe they figure that this Omicron variant isn't very dangerous

So you're saying they're just like:

"At this point... fuck it. who knows? It's probably not dangerous, and even if that still means a bunch of people die, a lot of people have already died, so what are a couple thousand or tens of thousands or even hundred thousand more? We still got over 300 million Americans."
The CDC is the equivalent of some guy at the bar, and nobody cares, and nothing matters anymore.

I was a bit surprised the CDC dropped the isolation period to 5 days. Apparently that was at the behest of the airlines, and completely bereft of any scientific basis.

"There were serious problems about the new 5-day isolation period.

First, there are no data or evidence to back it up. Yes, we?re facing an Omicron onslaught of cases and it would be useful to come up with a strategy to avoid a mass loss of functionality among our workforce and the on-the-go public, no less in the midst of the holiday season. But that doesn?t justify issuing a vacuous guideline.

Second, there was no mention of using a test, to confirm that the isolated individual is now OK to circulate, that there is no indication of infectiousness. That could be done via a rapid antigen test, which denotes infectiousness, carries some reduced sensitivity with Omicron, or via a PCR. The cycle threshold value of a PCR test is also indicative of infectiousness; the lower it is, the more likely potential for spread. Either of these tests would be far better than no test to justify a reduced isolation time in any individual.

Third, there are no data for Omicron?s clearance time. We know the characteristics of shedding and average time it takes for clearance of the virus for Delta and preceding variants, but to date we have not seen any such data for Omicron kinetics. With the Hong Kong report of 70-fold copies of the virus in the upper airway for Omicron versus Delta and prior variants, there is no certainty yet that Omicron?s clearance is fast.
I suppose none of this should surprise me... the US and state governments now exist solely to shovel money to corporations, and so it is completely unable to function in any other capacity.

This is the end result of Reagan's stupid "9 scariest words: I'm from the government and I'm here to help" quote. We now have a government that not only does not help, but cannot act in any capacity, other than funneling money to special/corporate interests.

If we needed the government to act - in any capacity other than that - i.e. block all flights from Country X, or quarantine this group of people, it cannot do that.

I just heard this reported on KTLA 5 in Los Angeles: ?New data shows most people spread the virus in the two days before symptoms start and for three days after that.?

Didn?t hear any more details than that.

For what it?s worth.

Anyway, it?s Biden and Fauci and the CDC, it?s not Republitard governors this time.

To paraphrase Fauci ?society has to continue to function, it?s a risk assessment decision.?

Wait, what?

covid hasn?t been around long enough to get any read on long Covid.

https://www.alz.org/aaic/releases_2021/covid-19-cognitive-impact.asp
In addition to the respiratory and gastrointestinal symptoms that accompany COVID-19, many people with the virus experience short- and/or long-term neuropsychiatric symptoms, including loss of smell and taste, and cognitive and attention deficits, known as ?brain fog.? For some, these neurological symptoms persist, and researchers are working to understand the mechanisms by which this brain dysfunction occurs, and what that means for cognitive health long term.

The "New Cases Per Day" chart in America just hit an all-time high... bigger than the late-2020-early 2021 wave (link). Good thing we already decided Omicron was no big deal, and we all know that for sure, and it's definitely going to serve as a "natural inoculation" that will not make anyone too sick, and render them immune to future COVID infections.

If I wasn't on my phone, I'd make that "guy not sure what button to press" meme.

one option would be "Blame Biden for fucking this up" and the other would be "continue to dismiss COVID-19 as no big deal"

If it ends up not being as bad as last winter the pro vax people will say it's because of the vaccines. The other side will say it's because Omicron just isn't dangerous.

Pediatric hospitalizations are increasing:
Daily pediatric COVID-19 related hospital admissions have more than doubled in the last month, increasing by 110%. Now, an average of more than 300 children are being admitted to the hospital each day.

still no big deal.

and if we've learned anything so far, it's that numbers never get bigger over time, and COVID won't change or mutate over time with a variant that affects children emerging at some point

Not 'feel' safer. Be safer. That's our best understanding - that it is safer. We don't know how much safer, and maybe it will turn out to be an unnecessary move, but everything we know from vaccines in the past suggest it's the safer move.

I'm not yet convinced those that are vaccinated are less likely to know they have it and spread it, than those not. They are all still classified as experiential as well, the science is subject to change as more time passes.

Okay.

This from the Mayo Clinic is more what I?m talking about.

?Many long-term COVID-19 effects still unknown. Much is still unknown about how COVID-19 will affect people over time??

What I?m saying is Covid hasn?t been around long enough for us to know how long lingering effects might last. Can to be five years? 10 years? The rest of a persons life? I aw

What we know is what we know about what we?re calling long-term now. What we had a calling Ron Covid might change.

everyone will get it sooner or later, if Omicron is less less severe then f'it chicken pox party it up and get it over with. It's time to get back to living again.

Though I realize some may not view brain fog as much of a symptom.

I used to get brain fog from Zolpidem it got bad enough to stop taking it finally. Now I just take some crap I get from Jones. Just have to take it at least an hour before bed

Science that is not open for discussion is nothing more than propaganda.

American virologist and immunologist Dr. Robert Malone, who?s work is at the forefront of mRNA technology, was just banned by Twitter for exposing the risks of mRNA vaccines.

Citing concerns over the rollout of the vaccines and their associated risks, the Northwestern-trained doctor joined the Unity Project to oppose Covid-19 vaccine mandates in California in November.

?As these vaccines are not yet market authorized and licensed, coercion of human subjects, particularly our youth, to participate in medical experimentation is specifically forbidden,? he stated. ?Therefore, public health policies which meet generally accepted criteria for coercion to participate in clinical research are forbidden.?

Dr. Malone is the original inventor of the mRNA vaccine platform used by Moderna and Pfizer for their Covid-19 vaccines.

Given Dr. Malone?s status as the architect of mRNA vaccines and his public credibility ? he completed his fellowship at Harvard Medical School ? it?s likely he was silenced because the ongoing vaccine push is political, not scientific.

Sure, but a week of brain fog would be a significant disruption, so I'll take take the appropriate preventative measures and dial back exposure from where I was in the post delta lull. We know enough for me to make that call.

It's the opposite of irresponsible. It's the practical thing rather than the thing that feels good. Being unfair to these people feels bad. Shooting Ol' Yeller after he saved the kid feels bad. But viruses don't care about fairness. How many people are we supposed to expose needlessly?

Show the heroes all the gratitude you want, but don't force me or my older family members to be treated by them if they're going to be a risk to our safety. That's not fair either.

How about we have everyone break into 2 separate hospitals, one where the vaxxed doctors and nurses treat vaxxed patients and another where unvaxxed treat unvaxxed?

Or is that too logical? It doesn't even have to be different hospitals, it could be different wings or floors... whatever would make you more comfortable.

Of course the fact is your family is vaxxed, so according to those who are pro-mandate, doesn't that mean they are protected? So what is the fear??? Why does it exist?
