Dang, I forgot about the MSU scandal!

she seems to be saying a bomb is going to drop within a week.

MSU fans attacking her, and complaining about Michigan fans who aren't actually alums, because that's somehow relevant to every conversation they have?

Yeah. Later in the thread, another female claims that she also heard this information and that it should be an interesting week.

Of course, it all could be fake. I don't know.

so today is Blackwell's deposition. Dantonio's & MSU's lawyers should know how solid his case is by the end of today (unless they have poor judgment... like their clients).

The size of the settlement check should be an indication of how culpable they are. also they will likely include an NDA with it, so Blackwell can't talk about it, or even say the settlement amount "vindicates" him. If his lawyer is competent, they'll include that as another bargaining chip.

if it doesn't settle... GET your bag of popcorn... and get ready to wait, as Dontonio's and MSU's lawyers push to delay their depositions til next February because "football more important." there might be another fight over that!

No word yet on Blackwell...

but ANOTHER MSU trainer is in trouble for sexual assault. This douche has been charged for 2 assaults, one sexual, and was apparently one of 11 who knew about Nasser's behavior, but never reported it.

It's kinda odd he's only getting charged now, but maybe with some of the "Old Boys Network" getting cleaned out of Michigan government, prosecutors are actually starting to do their jobs:
MSU spokeswoman Emily Guerrant said Thursday evening that Jager is still employed by the university but has been on paid administrative leave since March 2018. She could not comment on the reason.

Jager is accused of assaulting his girlfriend at Spartan Stadium in August 2015 and lying about it, according to East Lansing 54B District Court records. Both charges are misdemeanors.

Jager also is charged with attempting to sexually assault a different woman in Lansing in February 2016. In that case he faces a felony charge and up to 10 years in prison.

Jager was one of 11 people who the Attorney's General office named in a December report as having failed to report their knowledge of Larry Nassar's abuse before it became public.
In 2015, Jager's girlfriend told him that Nassar had "groped" her, according to the report, which called out MSU's "culture of indifference and institutional protection" that the AG's office said contributed to hundreds of women and girls being sexually abused.

The woman told AG investigators that Jager responded with indifference, telling her Nassar was "the best in the world," according to the report. Jager said he told his girlfriend to make a report if she felt uncomfortable.
The best in the world!

I guess this can go here, but it almost deserves it's own thread. (link)

In response to a FOIA request (thank god for those laws...) the state released security video from the Mateen Cleaves trial. It shows him twice physically dragging his alleged rape victim back to his hotel room.

...the fuck...

Justice was not served. That doesn't even border on being consensual. Cleaves is a scumbag.

I have no idea how a jury can watch that and just say fuck it! He's clearly innocent!

Just a little littering. Nothing to see here.

No idea what happened here. Maybe there was other exculpatory evidence? Maybe the jury were all MSU fans? Maybe the prosecuting attorney was, or was doing Izzo or the MSU "good old boys" network a favor?

Just as prosecutors can railroad innocents to get convictions, they can sandbag their own cases to let certain people off.

Certainly, with this video coming out, it was a bad look for Izzo to be sitting there at trial supporting his "family" or whatever he called Mateen.

Personally, if I knew a guy who was out running around ass-naked in public, and dragging women into his motel room to rape them, I would... distance myself from that guy. But then again, what do I know? I didn't go to MSU!

I wouldn't be surprised if they counter-sued the victims, and claimed they intentionally damaged MSU brand and reputation by getting assaulted by Larry Nasser.

Maybe just Aly Raisman and McKayla Maroney as a trial balloon to start, and see how it goes from there.

What a heinous and horrible black eye for the school and the state for the way in which events occurred in the first place, the attempted cover up and the pathetic outcome.

Awful, simply awful ....I hope that an avalanche of civil suits come down upon the university and the particular individuals involved.

The unfortunate thing is that the general public or the students will end up paying those bills.
