Dang, I forgot about the MSU scandal!

*sigh* another day, another MSU sex scandal:
A Michigan State University administrator has been suspended due to an allegation of sexual misconduct.

The Detroit News, citing an email it obtained, reports Tomas Hult was suspended from directing the university?s International Business Center and Center for International Business Education and Research for 12 weeks beginning Oct. 1.
...
Sarah Singer, director of Education Abroad in MSU?s business school, said during a recent Board of Trustees meeting that she was the victim of unwanted touching and inappropriate speech by a colleague.
This thread could be re-titled "Today's Example of Spartan Sexual Misconduct"

Does anybody there have normal consensual sex?

During the course of the Jones Day investigation in 2017, another football player, defensive end Auston Robertson, sexually assaulted the girlfriend of one of his teammates. He was dismissed from the team when he was charged with a crime, and later pleaded guilty and was sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.

Blackwell said in his deposition that multiple assistant coaches asked Dantonio not to offer Robertson a spot on the roster because he had a history of troubling behavior. Blackwell said he witnessed defensive line coach Ron Burton tell Dantonio that he didn't want Robertson to be on the same campus as his daughter.

"So for Ron Burton to say it was that bad that he didn't want his daughter around him, I knew he had some real serious sexual issues," Blackwell said in his deposition.

Burton did not respond to a message left for him Thursday asking him if he recalls the incident.

Robertson, a highly touted recruit from Indiana, was charged with misdemeanor battery during his senior year of high school. Police said he "rubbed and grabbed" a female classmate's groin against her will in the school's lobby. The female student told police Robertson had also harassed or touched her inappropriately on two other occasions. Robertson, who had also been arrested on vandalism charges months earlier, was kicked off the high school's football team and banned from the high school's campus while Michigan State was recruiting him.

I didn't know that last part... Jesus Christ. How can you recruit a guy who's been kicked off his HS team AND banned from his HS campus?

Dantonio is a real loser.

That's so strange that Michigan never revoked their offer. Neither did Ohio State, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Penn State, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Nebraska, Pitt, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Toledo and about 5 other schools that recruited him. I mean he was kicked off the team and banned from campus while all those teams, including uofm were recruiting him too.

The guy committed vandalism, and everyone except Gulo knows vandalism is a gateway crime that invariably leads directly to sexual assault. And yet, not one school including uofm revoked their offer to him.

they all kept recruiting him, until he signed with MSU, or they just neglected to revoke his offer because he already signed with MSU?

not sure a list of offers on Rivals really excuses Dantonio here, especially when a guy went on the record in his deposition saying other assistants asked him not to recruit Robertson.

I don't want to get into a back and forth with Mack. A lot of schools offered Robertson before he was banned from his HS. Schools will not announce that they pull offers. There is no way of knowing who continued to recruit Robertson after the issue or after they vetted him.

Schools throw out over 100 offers regularly. They don't plan on bringing them all in.

We do know that MSU continued to recruit him. We do know that he chose MSU and MSU chose to admit him.

Judging by his Michigan visit and thus replacing OSU with UM in his top 3 after said visit a week before his commitment to msu I'd lean towards they were still actively recruiting him

Going by this timeline, maybe our MSU fan friends can clear this up then

https://247sports.com/Player/Auston-Robertson-59322/TimelineEvents/

this details the timeline of AUston Robertson's recruitment

Unofficial visit to Michigan on May 30th, 2015

I don't see an official visit to Michigan at anytime

https://www.espn.com/espn/otl/story...g-sheds-light-background-check-recruited-espn

this shows the date where he groped a girl in October of 2015

Then he was banned from his high school campus in January of 2016

I'm finding nothing about an official visit to Michigan after January 2016

Even this link provided by Mack, only shows a visit to Michigan State.

they still offered him just like we did and presumably they did their due diligence as well. you can keep telling the MD haters here that this is somehow an indictment of him but your bullshit doeant stand up to any real scrutiny. the guy committed vandalism and none of the 20 schools he had offers from pulled their offers including uofm. you and gulo argued for pages anout how vandalizing the block m or the Spartan statue wasnt a big deal, now youre basically saying its a good predictor of who will commit sexual assault. hungry may believe but anyone who isnt a moron can see right through this nonsense.

The source for these allegation that multiple assistants told Dantonio not to recruit robertson is a guy who is suing MD and MSU after he was fired for interfering in a sexual assault case. how many assistants at uofm told harbaugh not to recreuit him, who told Charlie Crist to stay away? it seems pretty flimsy but im not surprised you think its enough to condemn MD who was investigated 2x and found to have followed protocol to the letter in dismissing Robertson and cooperating with investigations. Its not like you have a law degree and a grasp of due process and arent a hateful partisan hack eager to believe the worst about anyone associated with MSU.

whoa, amazing revelation. i guess that means all thise teams that offered him didnt actually recruit him. how'd did you come up with that piece of evidence? were you a criminal justice major in college?

a lot of athletes dont take all THREE of their allowed official visits. Most elite recruits are VISITED by coaches at their homes or high schools. Nice try, Dick Tracy.

I was addressing gotime's claim of an official visit to Michigan after Robertson was banned from his high school

Oh I guess you didn't. My bad. Still his unofficial visit was well before he got banned from his high school campus.

big difference, five not three i guess MC is right then - everyone should have known he was gonna assault a coed at some point. but if most recruits dont take three, is it really that big a of difference?

can you prove he didnt take an unofficial after his suspension Inspector Hungry? and was his offer pulled after he was banned after he was punished for vandalism? did uofm stop recruiting him? The answer is no, they didn't.

IF he had taken any other visits, it would have been on the timeline link that I provided.

We all know what happened. In the spring of 2015, Robertson looked like he was going to be a stud. A lot of schools offered him a scholarship. The last known contact he had with UM was late May of 2015.

Then schools found out about this:

----In one of those cases, in 2013, a female peer of Robertson's told Wayne High School administrators and then police officers that Robertson forcefully attempted to rape her after she said she was interested in having sex with him. She said Robertson "grabbed her by the ankles and pulled her into the bathroom." She said he pulled her hair, pulled down her pants and made her sit on his lap before she was able to escape.

Several months later, the same girl told police that, in a separate incident, Robertson burst into a bathroom where she was having sex with a different person and said, "My turn." She said Robertson forced her over the bathtub and raped her after she told him no and tried to push him away.-----------------------

True, those were just accusations, until this happened in October of 2015:

-----------On Oct. 22, 2015, surveillance cameras in the high school captured video of Robertson allegedly groping a female classmate in the incident that led to the misdemeanor battery charge and a delay of MSU's scholarship offer. Stockman said she did not believe anyone from Michigan State saw the video of the encounter. She said the school typically does not share surveillance videos with anyone other than police to protect the privacy of its students.--------------

He was suspended from school for 5 days

Then this happened:

----------Robertson entered a diversionary program for the battery charge in March 2016. Dantonio announced three weeks later that he and Michigan State "believe Auston should be provided with an opportunity to begin his education and playing career at Michigan State."------------

This is the battery charge that he received that caused him to be banned from his high school campus.

After all of this happened, no one wanted Robertson. No one except MSU was recruiting him still. We all know this. It's obvious. You're telling me that all of these schools were recruiting him and he didn't take even 1 free official visit? You're not being realistic. He even decommitted from Michigan State at one point to reopen his recruitment and look at other possibilities, took no visits, then recommitted to MSU.

It wasn't "just a vandalism" charge. btw, I didn't say anything about Dantonio. That was MChamp, so nice reading comprehension. I just provided some links and didn't provide any commentary until just now.

Reading comprehension? good one inspector. Speaking of reading comprehension, perhaps you should go back and read the article you linked. Schools did not find out about the 2013 allegations. This timeline says is no one was aware of any of these accusations. And since you have a criminal justice degree you should know you cant just go to the police and ask for a juveniles records. as the link you provided and presumably can comprehend, it clearly states that none of the allegations resulted in convictions which he isn't required to disclose and did not to any schools that recruited him. So all we know for sure is everyone was in the dark about the allegations and everyone continued to recruit him. Not one school withdrew their offer or stopped recruiting him because of alleged character issues. Not one and that includes uofm.

What we do know is the moment there was a credible accusation against him, he was suspended, then kicked off the team and out of the university.

Schools and their coaches are not allowed to comment on recruits until they sign a letter of intent. They wouldn't be allowed to announce that they withdrew an offer.
