Detroit Lions - Team Notes

Matt Prater picked up his third NFC Special Teams Player of the Week award after making five field goals for the Lions in their win over New Orleans.

Jim Caldwell on whether or not DeAndre Levy will play this week: "We'll see."
Wouldn't answer if he felt he's been fair to Levy with how he's answered questions about his injury throughout this entire process.

The full back-and-forth with Jim Caldwell about Lions LB DeAndre Levy, his status and his knee injury. Caldwell has been vague on Levy's injury all year.
He hasn't played since Week 1 but has practiced the past three weeks.

Lions HC Jim Caldwell wouldn't say why the Lions placed Brandon Pettigrew on the NFI list and what happened to place him there.

Lions GM Bob Quinn, after the Quick Lane Bowl press conference, declined comment on his team, saying he'll chat after the season. He did, though, chat with Boston College coach Steve Addazio briefly.

Matthew Stafford said "it's up there" when it comes to if this is the most fun he's had playing football. Lions have won 7 of 8 games.

Matthew Stafford on Jim Caldwell's sayings: "Too many to count." Latest one is "productive paranoia."

When Calvin Johnson retired, Matthew Stafford had an idea of where he thought the Detroit Lions might go this year but didn't know if his team was going to get there because every year is different.
So where was that? "I wanted us to be in a good spot at this point in the year."

Theo Riddick, Travis Swanson and Ezekiel Ansah all not practicing at the open portion of Lions practice Wednesday.
DeAndre Levy was participating, as was Tahir Whitehead and Dwayne Washington.

FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS HAS SOME EXPLAINING TO DO.
The Lions remain among Football Outsiders' lowest-rated teams in the NFL despite an 8-4 record, two-game lead in the NFC North, and north of an 80 percent chance of making the postseason.

MATTHEW STAFFORD GRADING AMONG TOP 10 NFL QBS THIS SEASON.

PFF Analyst and former NFL QB Zac Robinson breaks down the factors behind Matthew Stafford's 2016 success.

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is in complete control of his game.
The eight-year pro is in the midst of his best season to date, and heads into Week 14 as Pro Football Focus? seventh-highest-graded QB, with an 86.4 mark.
Stafford?s steady and clutch play in critical moments has seen the Lions rattle off wins in seven of their last eight games, putting Detroit in the driver?s seat for the NFC North race title, at 8-4.
The gunslinger at heart has pulled the reigns back on his game in his past 13 months, with a more disciplined and structured approach.
