Lions LB Tahir Whitehead, when asked if he felt slighted moving from MLB to WILL with Jarrad Davis coming in, dismissed the question. "For what? No. Got to do what is best for the team." Said moving to WILL is an adjustment but he's played all three linebacker spots.

Eric Ebron, Bruce Gaston and Nick Bellore are players I didn't see working out at Lions practice Monday -- the first day general fans were allowed in Allen Park. Ebron was injured Sunday.

Lions DE Cornelius Washington limped off the field favoring his left leg after a play in 11 on 11. The play before, SS Tavon Wilson left the field and sought assistance at the training table. Alex Carter replaced Wilson.

Tavon Wilson declined to speak with the media today -- he was hurt during practice and has the storyline of a lawsuit filed against him by the mother of his child -- but said he would chat later in the week.

Some highlights from the second day of Lions training camp:
BEST PLAY: In an 11-on-11 period, Matthew Stafford found Golden Tate open deep in a pocket of the defense. It was a good throw and an impressive toe-tap catch by Tate, who beat Darius Slay on the play. That's the type of connection the two have formed over the past three seasons and it set the Lions up for a field goal -- the point of the drill.

Rookie report: Don't read much into it but undrafted free agent Storm Norton got work with the No. 1 offense at left tackle. The Lions were down four potential left tackles Monday (Taylor Decker, Cyrus Kouandjio, Greg Robinson and Corey Robinson) so this is more of a numbers game. But he could be someone to pay attention to as camp goes on if he gets No. 2 reps when some of those players return.

Overheard: More seen than heard, but former Indiana basketball coach Tom Crean took in Monday's practice, spending most of his time with GM Bob Quinn. Lions coach Jim Caldwell said he knew him in passing from his days in Indianapolis but that Crean knew Bill Polian better.
