Detroit Lions - Team Notes

Matthew Stafford sharp for Lions; Jamal Agnew makes case on returns.

Best play from the Lions mock game: In a tight punt returner race, Jamal Agnew might have given himself a little space. Agnew had an 82-yard return for a touchdown. While typically I would discount this since there was no tackling, his moves on the return -- along with the blocking -- would have allowed it to be a touchdown in a lot of scenarios. He has really good speed.

On her way out of Ford Field toward the end of the Lions mock game, Lions owner Martha Ford stopped her golf cart to get out, walk over to the stands, and chat with Kelly Stafford, the wife of quarterback Matthew Stafford, who was sitting in the front row. After, team president Rod Wood went to chat with her as well.

An interesting nugget from the Lions mock game: Matthew Stafford had say in where the play clocks are placed in Ford Field. The clocks have to be on the right side, Jim Caldwell said, but the exact placement doesn't sound uniform. So before practice, Stafford was out on the field offering input on where the clocks were. "Guess we can move them around a little bit and settled on a spot," Stafford said. "They turned them yellow, doing a bunch of different stuff that's awesome, really helping me out."
