drafting a speed back

I have no idea nor care but don't throw out McShay like he's gospel..

I don't think he gets drafted either but he will be on an NFL roster next year.

I don't know, because it's a forum? Where Idle chit chat happens..

the guy cant stay healthy in college, getting pounded by the elite players in the NFL compounds things......idk....I guess dexter mccluster MIGHT be a comparible player....I can't see the lions drafting a guy like him unless its 6th or 7th round, if at all

Funny you say that. I watch Robinson play and he reminds me of a slightly bigger version of McCluster.

Some team will find a role for him. He is a great team player, Ill give him that. He would be a lock to Oakland in the 3rd if Al was still alive.

True.

7th round draft pick, 6th if he's lucky. I still say he goes undrafted.

I have nothing against the guy. I think he's a hell of a talent, but he's injury prone, he's small. Nobody knows where he fits on an NFL roster. Is he a QB? A RB? A WR? A PR/KR? A fn DB? lol

Too many question marks with this kid. I wouldn't go near him unless i was desperate.

his ticket will be the 40 time in Indy

hes garbage. Get theo riddick in the late rounds or if you want to follow your typical drafting strategy get Kenjon Barner in rd 3.

I would love Tavon Austin but we cant afford to waste a top pick on offense. I think we can get a speed back late. I do believe we really missed someone in the Best roll coming out of the backfield with enough speed to make the defense stay honest.

I think Robinson showed he's able and willing to hit the holes today, inside or out. Sure he is not a polished RB and would be a project, but someone will take him R5 at the latest IMO. He will be a great RB on 1st and 2nd down, and if he works on catching the ball out of the backfield could become a solid 3rd down back as well.

Just for arguments sake, let's play with the idea he comes to the Lions. With the way Ds currently play the Lions, deep safeties and such, there are potential holes for Shoelace to hit. He's accustomed to running from a shotgun formation similar to the majority of the Lions running plays. Difference being, he can hit the hole much faster, and when he does he will get 10+ yards downfield before the safeties can close and stop him. I think the Lions have exactly the type of O that would make Shoelace a success in the NFL at RB. A quick hitter who you can actually hand the ball to on 2nd and 10 and he can get the 1st down. Then the safeties will have to start honoring the run more when he is in, which opens up more possibilities for CJ.

If Detroit still had a R4 pick, I would be ok with them using even that to get him. He isn't as small as some claim at 6' and 200lbs. He's had injuries primarily due to the amount of times he ran the ball, and with the Lions he'd only touch it 10-15 times per game. I'm not saying he definitely starts over Leshoure, but would make a hell of a nice option.

Great personality would sure help a ton too. Within 3 years he could really develop into a 1500+ yds rusher. He's one of those guys who, even when seemingly not doing much, suddenly you look at his stats and he has 100 yds or more in the game. Ds have to respect guys like that...and the Lions don't currently have that type of RB.

I realize it is doubtful he goes to the Lions, but whatever team he goes to I wish him the best...except when playing the Lions. He'd tear up the Lions D worse than AP, IMO.
