I don't understand why msu is mad at michigan for getting in. Why not va tech clemson or wvu.. or just the bcs.

I think it's more that UM took the only other BCS game the conference is allowed. Most MSU fans feel they are more deserving than UM. Like I said in the other thread, I would much rather see UM in there rather than WVU or the ACC kumquats. The BCS is to blame IMO. The higher ranked team SHOULD go to the better bowl, in this case the higher ranked team lost to the team with the better SOS, head to head advantage, same amount of wins, and division champ and remained ranked ahead of them.

Along with that, many MSU fans feel they got a tougher matchup than that of UM. WHo knows, we'll find out in a month.

Yeah that's true.

Well look at it this way. Even if michigan technically got the better bowl. Msu will get twice the respect michigan will if you win your bowl.

This is what I sort of said in an earlier post. I'd rather play Georgia anywhere than Va Tech. At least this year.

Well maybe, for once, Sparty will win a Bowl game ... win when they're on national TV and start to dispell the notion that the program is a tier-2 BigTen football team that never plays well under true pressure and aside from a self-gratifying run against MICHIGAN, hasn't done shit otherwise.

it's been 10 years.

Unfortunately if they beat georgia we're going to hear their new found arrogance until we play again. Even if we win our game, it won't matter. "Virginia Tech sucks!" is what we'd hear. And if we lose, it will be ridicule we hear. EIther way, I'm fucking pumped for a huge bowl game like this!

I guess I just don't give a fuck about State or how their fans spin this year's Bowl game, relative to Michigan. If they can beat Georgia, they'll accomplish something Ohio* couldn't (when vacated) and can brag all they want to one another.

And that my friend, is why they call it rivalry. If Sparty didn't have fans, what fun would all this be. ;)

The schedule strengths of all three teams Wisconsin, Michigan, and MSU are now after the Big ten Championship game almost even.. MSU finally re-passed Michigan in SOS by 71.85 to 71.77 after the championship rematch. Wisconsin's SOS improves from 68 to 70.00 even after last Saturday's game...
The only thing that helps MSU is the four games in the middle of the season and playing Wisconsin twice... It is laughable what Wisconsin's and MSU's non-conference schedule is and here is the difference between Michigan and MSU... Michigan's non conference is much tougher then MSU's there is no debate about that... Plus I get tired of hearing we had eight home games this year...
Did you guys forgot your 8 home games MSU had in last years 11 win MSU season. Did you forget your terrible OOC schedule that year too....
By the way. It is not even close. Michigan non-conference schedule was 1000X tougher the MSU's this year and for any MSU fan to even try and defend your non-conference schedule is laughable and the next time you yap about all of Michigan's 8 home games this year just remember MSU in 2010 had EIGHT HOME GAMES IN YOUR 11 WIN SEASON. Stop yapping... But hey good job replacing 0-11 Northern Colorado with Youngstown st this year...

UM deserved it, MSU didn't. Simple as that. Next time don't get to CC game and lose. As far as I'm concerned 10-2 is better than 10-3. They said on TV today UM was T17 in SOS in the country. Ironically they tied Va. Tech. Not sure what State was but I bet not that high.

The fact you can sit your ass at home and pass a team you lost to because they lose a championship game is kinda bush league imo....and im more of a Wolverine fan than a spartan fan. BCS ranking should be locked after the regular season and not count the championship games. You cant have a system that hurts the teams that make it to the championship games and rewards those that dont lol...ud think that was common sense.

Bottom line is Mich will bring in a ton more money than if it was MSU so the BCS guys were creaming in their pants when MSU lost and they could turn to the wolverines.

Well if msu won, I doubt wisconsin would get picked. So I doubt they cared who won.

Then why have a CC game? And if MSU won, UM would still get a game.

Btw, a team that goes 0-4 non conf. And 6-1 in conf so 6-5 and a CC game should be
picked before a 10-2 team that sat home?

i didnt say that...to be honest i dont even know what team ur referring to with those stats.

All you need to say is when you have the 13th best BCS team in a BCS bowl game....something is fucked up lol.

I get that but it has nothing to do with MSU. And part of it has to with a team like Houston who played one of the worse schedules you could play and be rsnked 8 and then got smashed by a team who even had a worse SOS. A team like Boise who gets ranked too high because they are always a field good story. Get in a real conference.

Arkansas couldn't get in, too many sec teams. Of the rest, Sooner got blasted, Baylor with 3 losses. Maybe UM shouldn't haven't made it but I don't see who else would have been a better option.

What needs to sink into your head is that Michigan was the ONLY Big Ten team eligible for an at large birth. Money had absolutely nothing to do with it unless you think the voters are in cahoots with the BCS.

MSU will be receiving an extra $1 million+ this bowl season only because Michigan was selected. We'll wait until the emotion from that terrible ending has worn off for your "thank you". An apology for being so whiny would also be prudent, but not absolutely necessary.

I understand the frustration seeing your rival go up in rankings without playing, but in order for this to not happen, you'd have to ask voters to not take losses in CC games into consideration.

The other way to look at it...if Michigan didn't get that BCS game, then shouldn't Nebraska get it?

I know they weren't eligible and they were ranked lower than MSU, but they did win the head-to-head vs MSU, so there are some decent parallels between UM/MSU vs MSU/Neb.

.......or getting drilled by an 0-2 noter dame sucks team on primetime national TV
