Eagles shopping Asante... Again

He'd probably play the Sam with the Lions...and cover TEs.

I always thought he projected to the inside. If he's an elite OLB as well, I'd love it. Definitely worth a 3rd. But I think he's going in the top 15. I could see KC, Seattle, and Arizona taking him. If he falls past that, then idk...can't see the Eagles or Jets taking him. Probably not Cincy. Definitely not SD. Chicago might, but can't get a read on them with a new GM.

Trading up to SD at 18 would be the spot. Any higher and it probably takes more than a 3rd

I'd rather trade down for an extra 3rd than trade up to give one. That being said if there is a can't miss guy a 3rd is a cheap price.

Lions could move from 23 to 17 or 18 for a 3rd round pick....Lions 3rd rounder is worth 155 on the value chart...moves you from a 760 to a 915 which is about 18 range....2 picks ahead of the Bears.

Don't think it happens, honestly. He's a top 15 pick. LBs who don't pass rush usually aren't, but he is.

Not sure who they will take but moving up puts us in a spot to get the best value compared to our needs.(ol, cb, lb). The cost to move up is equivalent to a 3rd but mm likes to trade draft position not picks. I'd rather they go get what they want than pick the best of what's left.

Trade down with someone like Baltimore at 29 (as Peter King mocked) and pick up an extra 3rd to blow on a RB, and still be able to draft Adams, (Jenkins, Robinson, Zach Brown).

I guess we need to see how the thing unfolds in the first 12-16 picks

When was the last time you saw Baltimore trade up in round 1? Joe Flacco? That was after they already traded down.

Pitts almost certain to take Hightower.........If Baltimore wants a dominate ILB they may, but idk, i doubt it

You are right. Ray Lewis is immortal and Hightower would have to chop his head off to become the new ILB of the Ravens. Do they want that on their hands? Could be divisive in the locker room. So I'm not so sure.

Hightower can play the other ILB. Ray has 1 yr left

Ozzie Newsome is one of the best GMs in the game...and Marty beat him to Pettigrew , and Bellichek is no slouch and Marty beat him to Delmas....I got confidence in MM.

1st & 3rd: LB
2nd: ?

show me how you get another pick in the 1st 3 rounds
dont care how you slice it....that LB cost you 2 picks

What? :lmao:

You trade two less picks, 23 and 3rd round for a better pick, 17-18. Even the new math says 2-1=1. And, AND it still amazes me people don't understand how the draft works,

my point is the Lions need draft picks and I'll take 3 over 2 any day. LB isn't a must and no guarantee on either pick will be better than the other

If it came down to Dre in the 1st and a RB in the 3rd...I would take it over the LB
considering we have no one signed for next year at CB and a tight cap.....

That's cool. We all have different opinions just don't use the trading two picks thing when we're not.

Sooooo back to Asante...id trade a 3rd for him if he restructures down to about $7-8 mil per year. Better than any 3rd round pick wed get.

Lions dont have the $$$$ to make a trade.....gotta get the cap relief from Avril or let Williams go.

we just dont have the dough.......I think you would have to do something like giving him $6 Mill SB and doing like a E Wright contract of $14 Mill guaranteed for two years and add a fluff 3rd year to spread the SB out one more year., but even at that it wouldnt work. Avril's deal would have to get done to free up $5/6 Mill for this year
