Eagles shopping Asante... Again

I wouldn't spend a third on him, unless he restructures to a deal that we basically get him for a bag o peanuts. A 5th and a conditional next year is about all I would give for a 30+ year old corner.

He's not a RB, CB can play well into their 30's.

True, there's the bailey's, barbers, greens etc. Not really a fan of his. He would be an upgrade but the price is what would make or break it for me. What is this the 4th year he's been on the trading block? If we can't get him on the cheap just wait and get him after june cuts.

The guy was statistically the third best corner in the NFL last season.

Now, to be fair, I didn't watch a lot of Eagles games, so I don't know how hard or how soft those stats are. But if the asking price is a 5th, and he's willing to work a new deal, there is no way he's a June cap cut. Someone will make a move for him earlier than that.

If the Lions want him, they have to work a deal for him. If not, he'll be wearing someone else's uni next season, and oh well.

All a matter of how much Mayhew really wants him.

Maybe the State of Michigan can offer up a 2nd RD pick from the Pistons and B. Inge for Samuel.

Maybe I'm missing something, but if he's that good and willing to restructure why would they want to trade him?

Maybe he doesn't want to restructure for them? And maybe I'm wrong but isn't he like the 3rd wheel? I'm not sure if they rotate Aso, Cro and Asante evenly or what..

7 mil a year is too much for your nickel corner. Esp when your #1 is the highest paid cb in the league.

He says he will restructure for a team that will have a chance of winning it all. Phili is that type of team. Don't really know their FA situation but they're already under the cap so it doesn't look like a money move (this year Atleast). Most teams play the nickel what 70% of the time and if you know your going to have to play NO, GB, Det in the playoffs I wouldn't be trading him. Guess a 3rd is too good to pass up.

Maybe he doesn't want to be in the nickel or just play in the nickel..

All 3 corners are better suited for the outside. They struggle inside as nickel corners. Actually, the Eagles have a good nickel corner, Hanson. They could roll with him at nickel and two on the outside and be better off.

They should've taken Detroit's offer last year. They're screwed now, they'll have to cut him.

Iggles approved a trade to Denver for 5th and 6th round picks, but it was voided because Samuel wouldn't accept the restructuring terms.

Damn man, 5th and 6th. I'd do that but we have no 6th and no cap room anyway..
