Election Aftermath

I'm impressed by how you always know to focus on the important issues, & what really matters, and not get distracted by frivolous crap.

Well at least I know Courtney is now.

Never had heard of her before.

One blurb about her wedding I read referred to celebrating her ?Indian heritage? and I thought ?well that?s not very woke? then the blurb named items associated with the dark subcontinent and I thought ?oh, that Indian. Okay.?

I guess she has that in common with the Veep. That and them cookies.

Mildly surprised that the term "cookies" is still in the lexicon. But the term will disappear when the actual items are outlawed.

Why does the cookie have no face, that?s just creepy

Maybe after a year of wearing the mask she forgot what she looks like. Or maybe the baker doesn?t make representations of people?s facial likenesses for religious reasons.

Or maybe it melted away like something straight out of the wizard of oz?

Michchamp was impressed I found such an obscure news item

Yeah, water didn?t really melt the wicked witch, and she wasn?t actually wicked, she was more misunderstood. Glinda was the only one who really got her - Glinda and Glinda?s ex-fianc?e, the Scarecrow.

The whole melting thing was actually a set up. She faked her own death to escape the Wizard, because she was sure he would eventually kill her if he got the chance - he viewed her as an existential threat; she had the ability to expose the Wizard?s whole con of everyone in all of Oz. He had to bring her down.

Wow That was one deep assessment. impressive!

Old villains are retconned into misunderstood heroes and superheroes all have character flaws these days. It's kind of like the NEIPAs. It was nice when it was fresh, and I don't want it gone, but there's just too much of it now.

I?m thinking of writing a few songs and working it up into a Broadway musical.

What are the odds that the story line would make a hit?

Don?t know.

Maybe about the same as defying gravity.

Might be onto something. Maybe instead of redeeming a witch, you could focus on exposing Dorthy's nature. Her dog bit a lady, she ran off with it, squashed someone in her escape, stole that person's shoes, tried and allegedly succeeded in killed her sister, sent a beloved maybe off to who knows what by sending him off in a balloon he didn't know how to control, ripped apples off sentient trees, her dog attacked a scared lion...

I think like half of all new movies are comic book movies, another quarter are comic book movies with a female protagonist in a futile attempt to get women to watch comic book movies, the last quarter are formulaic rom coms Hollywood is still cranking out to hedge against the likelihood women don't want to sit through 2 hours of mindless violence and explosions even if a female protagonist is making them.

Gone are any pretensions to cinema as art... it's just full blown bread and circuses now.

Dude...movies are made for the chicoms these days.

I?m being funny...but I?m not making a joke.

so all these comic book movies might be, nee ARE a chicom plot to make America dumber?

only literary snobs can save us.

say, maybe that could be the plot of an original, non-comic book movie?

There was build back better propaganda in the falcon and winter solider series. Yes it?s all chicom influenced conspiracy to get America to hate ourselves and rot from within. And they are succeeding sadly. Too many Cena like kowtowers

That is EXACTLY how Barney Stinson would have seen that story. Him and Winnie Holzman and Gregory Maguire.

Also, in my story Elphaba - the green witch - had rescued that lion when it was just a little cub.
