Bonagura: Auburn vs. Michigan
Schlabach: Alabama vs. Michigan

Alabama or Auburn as an opponent are the only games I'd be sure to watch.

yeah, those might be good games.

but I kinda expect us to just mail it in, and lose 35-17. Then I'll completely forget about football until next August.... then gradually get more and more drawn into it, until we give up 50+ pts to OSU again.

It's a vicious cycle, isn't it? I don't know if I see as many guys passing on the bowl game this year though. The guys last year that sat were locks for the first round. The guys this year still have some room to improve their draft stock. I'm honestly surprised we haven't heard any announcements about DPJ or Nico Collins yet.

I'd rather face USC or some team not from the SEC playing in Florida as a 'consolation' for not being in the Playoff.

If Michigan mails in a game against these two teams, I will advocate that JH be the next coach of the Carolina Panthers.

Well, except for Higdon...

I'll take Bama. Get em at the right time at least. I don't think the defense can stop either of them.

I thought the same thing the time we played a 2 loss Alabama team in a bowl game after the 2010 season - figured they'd be complacent, disinterested and maybe we could catch them off guard. It would be hard to be more wrong. I think Saban has a hard on for the B1G and I don't think he will treat that game any differently than the playoff. We didn't face a 2nd string QB and they had Heisman trophy winner Mark Ingram at TB and Julio Jones at WR but it's not like they're not a great team now.

I'd love to see a B1G team take them down, but I don't know that this is the right time to get them.

The 2010 MSU team is a lot like Hoke's first Michigan team. An incredibly soft schedule coupled with a slightly above average team. Bama was far more talented.

I'm not suggesting that Michigan will win that match up, just that this year's Bama team is without their Heisman caliber QB and I would expect that they will have a handful of players sit out the bowl game, which is something they've never had to deal with since the playoffs started. The talent gap between 2018 Alabama and 2018 Michigan isn't nearly as wide as 2010 Bama and 2010 MSU.

Then again, the Harbaugh - led michigan teams do tend to shit their pants any time they see an equal or better opponent so 49-7 would probably exceed expectations.

Ya, I forgot about him sitting out. I think that had more to do with the fact that he was a non factor in the OSU game after running his mouth more than it was to protect his draft status. Then again, he was also one of the guys that "decided" to play their senior season instead of leaving school early for the draft, even though it was clear to anyone that watched him that he was not talented enough to play in the NFL. Hence the reason he's on a practice squad instead of a roster.

If we had a DLine, it would be a really good game. We dont, so.........

that 2010 MSU team would beat the 2019 uofm team 6 or 7 times out of 10 and the talent gap between the 2019 tide/wolverine teams is probably the same as the 2019 buckeye/wolverine talent gap, if not worse. Also, if you expect Bama kids to sit out the bowl game, shouldn't that also be the case for uofm players? Saban probably has better talent waiting in the wings then harbaugh does. I'm not saying it will be 49-7 but if that's the matchup and Alabama is favored by anything less than 3 TDs, I'd take the tide and give the points
