Ferguson, MO

The video was not released by the AP. News footage was spliced with the extremely distasteful propaganda piece put out by the White House.

I linked several AP articles/sources to corroborate the images shown. I thought that would be enough, I was clearly mistaken.

As far as beyond reproach? No. But they're closer than anything else out there. I stand by that. It's reporting without opinions stuffed in. Exactly why they dont have multi million dollar cable channels. It's be boring as hell to watch and America can't handle that.

I know, that was sarcasm based on your earlier post where you said you only linked from the AP. the video is just as distasteful as Trump's photo op - it's clear they have an agenda just like he did. It's also pretty clear that they probably weren't 100% truthful.

The AP is the same as everyone else these days when it comes to editorial content in their articles.

I disagree. Yes the 4 officers will get their fucking due process under the law. Unlike George Floyd received. All he Received was a public knee lynching at the hands of a Police officers knee. The police officer had his knee on him for 8-9 minutes. He was pleading he can’t breath for at least a few minutes.

He had 18 prior complaints against him
Before he knelt on Floyd's neck, Chauvin was the subject of 18 prior complaints filed against him with the Minneapolis Police Department's Internal Affairs.
Police confirmed the complaints were filed but didn't detail why they were filed or what they entailed. Only two of the 18 complaints were "closed with discipline," according to a MPD internal affairs public summary. In both cases, Chauvin received a letter of reprimand.
According to Communities Against Police Brutality, a Minnesota nonprofit that created a database of complaints against officers in the state, Chauvin received oral reprimands for using a "demeaning tone," "derogatory language" and other language that merited discipline.
Neither the nonprofit database nor the Minneapolis internal affairs public summary include dates or descriptions that incited the complaints.
Former officer Tou Thao, who was also involved in Floyd's arrest, had six complaints filed with internal affairs, one of which was still open, the summary said. The other five were closed without discipline.
The other two former officers, J. Alexander Kueng and Thomas Lane, had no complaints filed, according to a MPD internal affairs public summary.

His wife has filed to dissolve their marriage
The day after Chauvin's arrest, an attorney for his wife Kellie filed for a dissolution of marriage.
"This evening, I spoke with Kellie Chauvin and her family. She is devastated by Mr. Floyd's death and her utmost sympathy lies with his family, with his loved ones and with everyone who is grieving this tragedy. She has filed for dissolution of her marriage to Derek Chauvin," a statement from Sekula Family Law office read.
"While Ms. Chauvin has no children from her current marriage, she respectfully requests that her children, her elder parents, and her extended family be given safety and privacy during this difficult time."
The pair owns a townhouse in Windmere, Florida, Orange County property records show. Peaceful protests were held there before Chauvin's arrest when it was rumored Chauvin had left Minnesota to hole up in Florida. The Orange County Sheriff's Office said he wasn't in the home and had no plans to be, and shortly thereafter, he was arrested in Minnesota.

I guess He was a real nice guy lol. His wife dropped him as fast as she could. Good for her.

It really Doesn’t matter what he did or was on. He was restrained with his hands behind him and there was a knee killing him on his neck. There were 4 fucking police officers. The other 3 are just as fucked as Derek Chauvin who should be charged with Murder. Which he was. Now the other 3 have been charged with Accessory. Chauvin wife has filed for Divorce. He had 18 other complaints filed against him.

He is being held at a maximum-security prison
Chauvin is being kept at Oak Park Heights state prison, the highest custody level in the Minnesota corrections system.
"The move to DOC custody was made out of an abundance of caution to ensure he is safely held and after concern about space in the jail due to large numbers of arrests related to the unrest over the last few nights," the state Department of Corrections said.
There, he has access to phones and video visitations. In-person visits are not allowed because of Covid-19 concerns.

Okay.

In #733, I said I heard a report on KABC radio that the Park police said they were responding to violence and they didn’t even know Trump would be walking through the area shortly there after. So I looked that up on the Internet and one corroborating story was from Fox News. Then I clicked on a link within the link and in #735, I posted that link; apparently Neal Augustine, a reporter with a Washington DC radio station, claims to have a source at the park police who made these statements, and Augustine seems to be Fox’s source for the story.

I don’t know the reporter and I don’t know the radio station but I do know this – if I am a reporter, and I am reporting on something that the Park police did, the first thing I’m going to do is I’m going to go to the park police. “There are reports that you teargassed peaceful protesters in order to allow President Trump to walk through the area shortly there after for a photo op at the church. How do you respond to that?”

Now maybe the Park police are going to deny it, which is apparently what they’ve done. Are they lying? I have no idea. I also don’t care. If I am a reporter I’m supposed to report the facts. Let people come to their own conclusions.

It seems to me that no one in the press who is claiming that the police action was done to make a way for Trump to walk through the area has confirmed that was the reason with anyone who would actually know - at least, I haven’t heard that they did. The only one who has gotten anything from the horses mouth is this Augustine guy, assuming he actually spoke to someone with the police - again, if he really did, we don’t know if he was lied to or not.

He seems to be a local in DC guy who may have better access to information from police than people at CNN or MSNBC.

of course they don't confirm it. they publish it and it becomes the narrative - they can't confirm it first because they don't want it disputed or disproved. even if it's disputed or disproved after the fact, the correction either never comes or if it does, it's buried in the back pages, the damage is done and that is all they care about. It's about an agenda and has nothing to do with journalism, start to finish.

Oh sorry, rubber bullets in the back being much more preferable then tear gas, also they used tear gas.

And watch the video, they didn't get caught up with bad guys.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MXtoh90mgk

https://www.cnn.com/videos/media/20...lice-orig.cnn/video/playlists/business-media/

First link is because you'll dismiss the second right away.

Also, note that as the reporter was fleeing, as ordered, one of the cops swatted her in the back with a baton, but go ahead and make some more excuses.

They didn’t use tear gas, they used smoke canisters which do not contain an irritant like tear gas does. The cop did say later that night, they did use tear gas when protestors became even more violent.

by "make more excuses" do you mean make more excuses for behavior I clearly said I'm not excusing? Go ahead, keep pretending I said something I didn't then argue about how the thing I literally said the opposite of is so horrible.

From what I saw in that video the cops were shoving everyone who wasn’t dispersing - seems they clearly did get caught up with the crowd. The cop was so short he probably couldn't see the camera over his head when he first hit the guy with his shield, after that he saw him and just pushed him along to move him out of the way and another cop hit the woman in the backpack with a little love tap. Where's the evidence of the rubber bullet being fired? Hardly seems like the kind of thing the State Department needs to investigate - elevating this to the level of the kidnapping, torture, murder of Jamaal Khassogi and subsequent coverup is moronic. Possibly the dumbest thing said on this thread.

I keep saying to do your own research and be your own journalists, because anything on TV is feeding you what IT WANTS YOU TO KNOW. And WITHHOLDING what it DOESN’T want you to know.

We know that Maya Santamaria owned the club where Floyd and Chauvin worked during the same time. (Chauvin worked there 17 years).

She also owns a radio station called La Raza

Link to story about La Raza radio Station and “new partnership with the Minnesota Twins

The first corporate structure to be vandalized? Target. The Twins’ field is called “Target” field. Also ... the allegorical reference to “target” is too convenient.

And the building where LaRaza broadcasts was burned to the ground. Did you hear about that on MSM? Link

I could offer more about these stories, but I won’t. The point is: The news is a diversion to what is really happening behind the curtain. The news IS the curtain.

PEEL BACK THE CURTAIN.

Bob, I pretty much don?t get point of this.

Whatever you disagree with I can?t tell - you haven?t quoted what you disagree with.

Then you make a long post retelling a news story with a lot of details that we all pretty much already know - you do point out the tragic irony that George Floyd was denied due process, unlike the police need to be afforded - yes, that?s obvious to me and probably everybody else. I find it terrible and appalling nobody I know sees it any other way.

So what am I missing?

It is, at the very least, shoddy reporting.

EDIT: Here, Politico publishes the story with a White House response - the police action had nothing to do Trump’s church visit. Is it bullshit? I don’t know. It could be. But if you just jump to conclusions without doing any investigation, it’s not reporting - it’s something else.

PEEL BACK THE CURTAIN.

Okay.

I?ll keep my eyes peeled.

GET IT?

EYES ?PEELED??

GET IT?

GET IT?

This pretty babe do not want to be a Hmong the killer anymore.

Get it?

Because, ya know, she’s Hmong.

And she’s divorcing his ass.

What are you talking about?

Standing still or sitting down is not a crime, so what fucking difference does anything you posted make?

And the only "cunt" here is you.

Honey, please read the post I was quoting.

The medical examiner?s office had issued an additional report on Monday, listing his manner of death is homicide due to ?cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint and neck compression.? The report also noted he had arteriosclerotic and hypertensive heart disease, fentanyl intoxication, and recent use of methamphetamine and cannabis.

So this guy had a heart attack. A guy with heart disease, Covid-19 & taking a drug cocktail, is restrained and has a heart attack. If these cops get a decent lawyer they are going to get off light.

Maybe.

Juries and sentencers are unpredictable.

The Rodney King cops got off at first, then two of them didn?t.

OJ got off, then, in Nevada, he was convicted and received a very heavy sentence, for that crime, in the eyes of many.

We?ll see.

The subtext: You can ?trust? us, and ... Google. Got it.

Well, I thought it was ironical, because the subject is audio/video/narrative manipulation, and peeling, and look - here?s Jordan Peele - takin? about it too!

the reports provide a direct link from his actions to the guys death, and (can't find the source right now) but a Minneapolis police official said cops are specifically trained NOT to do what he did because it's life threatening. Not sure what you mean by getting off light, but I don't see how Chauvin doesn't get a significant sentence.

The best defense any of these guys have is the 2 rookies can maybe play dumb and claim they were intimidated and didn't know any better but even there, I don't see how they can find a jury that's sympathetic to that.

the article you posted doesn't mention divorce - it's about how before she met Chauvin, she faced charges for passing a bad check until she made good on the money she owed. Sadly (for her), she's not likely to get much from him in a divorce - he'll probably lose his pension and get the shit sued out of him for what appears to be a slam dunk wrongful death case. They may be able to attach her assets that are owned jointly.

Were it that obvious, I’d not be concerned in the least. Yet, it IS obvious that ABC and the other media puppets are far more clever and crafty, Peele included, it appears, based on 10 minutes of research on the guy.

For starters, he’s a direct cousin of Abraham Woodhull. Link

Guessing he'll be charged with manslaughter at worst.

Probably what he meant.

Also depends how much that initial cause of death holds up.

I don't want to speak for the Hammer, but from his post (and from yours) I'm guessing he knows and you don't, that in Australia, "cunt" is often used as a term of endearment and is gender non-specific. When I lived there for b-school I remember asking one of my Aussie friends about a guy in our class and he said something like "Yeah he's a good cunt, mate." Reading his post, I thought that was the tone Hammer was using the word.
