As I said...if people in the protest are throwing shit at police, he was no longer participating in a peaceful protest.

How are the police supposed to know if his hands are up because he was signifying peace, or if they were up because he had just thrown shit at the police or was about to throw shit? Someone was throwing shit at the police from that direction.

EDIT: I don’t know how it could be more clear...if you’re intending to participate in a peaceful protest, and violence breaks our between the crowd and the police, if you don’t vacate the area immediately...you’re no longer a peaceful protester. Now, you’re part of the riot.
