Game 10: Raiders @ Lions Thread

All I saw was a bad Oakland defense and us scoring 18 points. Which is very close to our season average. Yay. Dumbest offense ever.. I know G3Cooter + Y7Stafford = patience.

We had a 7 minute drive at the end that easily could have been points but weren't needed. And Ebron dropped a TD. The offense did well other than the 3rd Quarter and the run game did something for once.

could have easily been a red zone pick as well...Stafford was due.

If we had a QB that could hit a wide open RB in stride or a TE that could catch we could of easily had 22 points...much better. A few too many 3 and outs. Still a disappointing performance from our offense overall.

The one 3 and out Caldwell should have challenge. Pettigrew got that first down. 3rd and 1 to Tate failed somehow. Too much pressure allowed in 3rd Quarter.

I agree on the Pettigrew catch. Should have been challenged and it would have given them the first down.

A whole 7 minutes, wow. 7 minutes of 600. Yippee.

Yeah, keep it going. Enjoy a decade of Sheldon White and Jim Caldwell. Reward that mediocrity.

I know we can 11 games with Caldwell and Cooter and Austin.

Sheldon White helped Mayhew. And Mayhew added a ton of talent to this team. I'm all for hiring Mayhew back if the Lions finish 9-7 too.

Some guys got old but still offered some things (Tulloch in run game), some didn't recover from injuries and some new injuries occured, but the talent is there.

We'll see if Lawson, Diggs and Quddus can keep it going in the secondary. Run D was good 7 of 10 games so far. We'll see on Alex Carter as the Mathis successor. We'll see on Laken and Swanson's development at LG and C. I know Reiff and Warford can play in this simplified scheme.

They need a new RT and power back and free agency hits the defense. We'll see how they addresse DT, DE, SS, MLB and SAM LB. Quddus and Whitehead/Lewis back or Van Noy developing could fix too. Tulloch will be cut but a cheap contract fits for a 2 down run LB if he wants to come back. Carter/Lawson/Diggs could be the future. I love Slay, Quin, Levy and Ansah.

Sheldon White helped Mayhew and Millen. He was here for the entire regimes.

Millen- 31-81
Mayhew- 43-79

Sheldon White's combined record "helping" those GMs- 74-160

Bring him in. He deserves it.

Millen did his own thing.

Mayhew was good since 2011. 2009 and 2010 was a Millen rebuild

I'm all for Sheldon White. Straight shooter.

If they finish 9-7 though, Mayhew deserves his job back.

Especially with KC (won 4 in a row) and Arizona looking strong.

this is why we need them to keep losing...ensure they fire Mayhew and Caldwell. They are both clueless.

We need to keep winning and sneak in playoffs.

Very possible with 5-5 and 4-6 teams galore. And Lions playing many of the 4-6 ones.

That freaking Seattle loss would put Lions at 4-6 and Seattle at 4-6. Refs screwed us. Behind Tampa (5-5 with 8-8 all over them) and falling Falcons (lost 4 in a row).

Absolutely not. You cannot assume that. If they would have beat Seattle, the entire season changes. Sports, as in life, is not played in a vacuum.

Here is the problem. They are still the same shitty team that started 1-7....they just squeaked out a few wins. I said this was going to happen. They would go on a run late in the year because they were going to have a soft schedule and it would fool people into believing they were better than they are.

This team still sucks! 3 wins by a total of 10 points and one of those wins was an OT win to the shitty Bears at home.

They will probably win 4 more games and stupid fans will think things are getting better....that the team was just unlucky early and the Lions are really a good team!

They are better than most teams. They can win with Caldwell. Get a RT, healthy power back, MLB that can cover and DT.

Laken,Swanson and the secondary will grow. The scheme is better with Cooter. Lawson, Digg, Quddus have helped turn things around so far.

Lions play NFC East and AFC South next year.

Packers are good and Raiders are decent. These weren't cup cake wins.

If they win out. The 0-5 start was the fluke with a super tough schedule road and away early. 9-2 the rest of the way. It's better to play better in October, November and December anyway.
