Game 11: Bears @ Lions *Thanksgiving Day* Thread

Stafford sucks. I refuse to give him the benefit of the doubt anymore. He’s been in the league for ten years and still makes mistakes that high school players know not to do. He has the second highest cap hit this season but he’s not even in the top 20 quarterbacks. He’s a waste of a roster spot. Trade him, take the hit and build a defense and an OL that can run block and get a qb like Alex Smith in the later stages of the draft to manage the offense while the running game and defense wins for us.

The Lions actually out-played the Bears with the exception of the QB position. This loss is on Stafford. The pick 6, a second pick and one he got away with right before Blount scored a TD (threw it directly into the hands of a LB at the 5 yard line but he didn't catch it and a Lion caught it for a 1st down)

Agree . Squarely his fault. I think I heard him in his presser saying he saw the DB and still thought he could get the ball to the receiver before he got there. I have to go back and watch the presser again because that can?t be true. He saw him and still threw the ball? Wtf?
God damn it you just can?t have those last two Int?s . Oh and btw the Fucking Lions just like the Redskins last night are never going to get a call they need. We have to beat teams period. This franchise will never get a call until it starts winning games Big year in year out and we still may never get a call. Well if it was Washington vs Detroit we all know how the flags would fly in that game lol.. Other then the shitty Jbc offense the other coaches had this team In postion to win yesterday. Our 20 million dollar qb failed badly.

Maybe he didn't realize how much speed the DB had. He was going full throttle to.

We don't throw the ball deep because the line couldn't protect Stafford all of a sudden after a nice start.... Honestly didn't think just losing TJ would make the line so shit. I mean did you watch the game? We had 1 NFL quality receiver out there at best, and were playing one of the, if not the best, defenses in the game. I get Staff sucked today and both picks were awful but that scheme is in place the last couple weeks so Stafford wouldn't get killed and you can't throw the ball downfield when there is 0 separation from your WR's... IDK wtf has happened from last year to this year but Matthew just looks lost and not confident in anything he's doing...

Defense was great.

100 yards rushing and 2 tds from the run game.

Oline played really well

...annnnd were back to need more weapons lololololilllllllllilololol.

You fucking guys just make one excuse after another. How many years is this going to go on? Y23 STAFFORD is going to be fucking awesome!

Stafford is an above average quarterback that can play great at times. The thing is he can be absolutely terrible at times. His biggest problem is he is highly inconsistent. He has all the physical attributes to be a good quarterback and makes some great throws. With that being said he is terrible at reading a defense, audibles, and pocket presence.

After all his ups and downs it doesn't matter he is stuck here for at least 2 more seasons because of his contact. As long as he is here the Lions won't win a super bowl or probably even a playoff game. So they should build the best team they can and if a qb falls to them in the draft that they have confidence can be the next qb of this team they should take him.

Playcalling first int
Roberta 2nd int
Play calling quick passes for pass rush
Down 3 weapons

This was on Cooter and Roberts

And refs allowing pick plays, fuller to interfere with roberta and jamrs daniels to carry cohen for the game clinching first

pick plays are run in every game...it depends how they are run if they are legal or illegal. The one run against the Lions was fine. Maybe the Lions should try something like that...lord knows the WRs can't get open enough for Stafford.

The INTs were all on Stafford. He's lucky he didn't have another. He threw it right into the hands of a LB but he couldn't make the catch...it popped up into the air and a Lion caught it for a 1st down. I think it was right before Blount's first TD.

Stafford played like dog shit.

That was an illegal pick. They threw the flag then refs fucked us
Pi on roberts on second pick
And it was a tipped ball that bellore caught. Not into hands of lb

In every sport Detroit we can say the players stink but apparently we make excuses for Matt every year. Face it he's overrated.

Just thinking back to some of the yip yap in the pre season, there were some of us already complaing that they looked like complete dog shit and that we are going to be in for a disappointing season, while others were saying it means nothing, sometimes it doesn’t but seriously you could really see even before the season started they had some serious issues I predicted 6-10 and well on track for that to be spot on..now in theory the lions should be in great shape to fix some of the these massive holes in the off season through FA and the draft and next year should be better

Nobody got this right. This is an 11-5 team getting screwed over

Ops doubled checked I predicted 5-11 not 6-10

Well that’s still quite possible too, I mean damn I would think they can beat AZ yet for win #5

Now see them go 4-1 rest of the way and Quinn and Patty will get long term extensions.

Nobody got this right. This is an 11-5 team getting screwed over by Stafford's poor play, shitty coaching & a shitty defense.
If it weren't for those things, this team would have some potential.
