Game 11: Vikings @ Lions *Thanksgiving* Thread

Yeah he was..

Slay called himself ?an all-the-way turned-up guy? and said the team needs more of the same from others on the roster.
?I don?t know, man,? Slay said, via the Detroit Free-Press. ?I ain?t everybody. Everybody different. Everybody wired different. So I don?t know how to change that. They?ve got to have in in their heart and their desire. Like, I love this game. ? Everybody?s doing it for their family mostly. So you?re going out here to slack off for your family, man? You?re a prime example of your family. I don?t want my son or nobody see me out there half-assing.?

I've seen Slay "half-assing" it. He's not above reproach.

Meh. Like I said...whatever. Slay is a baller and what he says is spot on.
You have seen Slay half assing it??? Lol. Dude, you're full of fucking shit. You don't watch Lions games...remember? Slay gives 110% effort all the time. Try again

Yes. Didn't give the team a chance to block it, or maybe the K misses the kick. I suppose that doesn't count. Plus he makes mistakes in games throughout the season.

I thought it was a great play by Slay. He mistimed that snap by a millisecond. He had to try something. It was a chipshot FG. Ripping on Slay for that is weak.
He makes mistakes? So what? He's on the field every defensive snap. Even Tom Brady makes mistakes. All the great ones do...

Then he shouldn't be on the field if he is scared.

To be fair I don't think that is it, I just think he's shown for 9 years he struggles with down field accuracy, this is just more proof. He has a strong arm but poor touch and accuracy over 10 yards

That's why we are the best when we mitigate his options. No surprise he put up his best stats when asked to throw within 5 yards of the LOS.

As we opened up the playbook that's when the inconsistent Stafford comes back.

Ya, for your information, Stafford leads the league in pass comp over 20+ yards. Heard the stat on 97.1 before the game yesterday. So you're wrong again...

That's the thing, there was virtually no difference in the defensive performance on either side.

Both played equally well against the run, both gave up the same passing windows, Vikings may have been penalized more. The difference was Vikings offense had less unforced errors. So they had longer drives.

Lions essentially played themselves on defense and Stafford and the offense just couldn't get it done.

Defense did enough to win. Ball at the end of the game with plenty of time is good. Especially when you turn the ball over and missed on at least 3 TDs

Defense did enough to win????

Fucking WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! LMAO. FUCK YA BRO!!!

Also 9.4 Y/PA given up by our defense. That's ridiculous. And when does Detroit ever win when giving up 27+ points? Probably not often. So no, I don't believe the defense did enough.

Smartest thing I have ever read from you. Wow....

Keenum sure as fucking shit had it easier. Who's defense is better, genius???

3 for 11 on 3rd down. 1 for 3 in the red zone. It's a theme... when Stafford sucks at 3rd downs and red zone efficiency were doomed. The defense absolutely gave us a chance to win in the 2nd half...Stafford didn't get it done.

Defense got gashed for 420 fucking yds. Stfu about the defense getting it done. Jesus Christ!

The defense gave the offense a chance to dig themselves out of the hole that the defense put them in. How nice of them to play defense for a few drives.

Lions offense started with a 3 and out, then a fumble giving the Vikings the ball at the 39, then had another 3 and out. Come on defense start better.

Can someone list all the unforced errors Keenum had?

Case Keenum had a better game. So what?! Wtf is your point??
And the defense was hot motherfucking trash!!!

Point is when you don't have unforced errors you put up more yards. The offense probably cost themselves nearly 120-130 yards by just making errors. Which would have given the Lions the same yards as the vikings. Both defenses were trash yesterday.
Vikings offense just didn't shoot themselves in the foot as often.

The difference in the game was how the offenses performed, not how the defenses performed.

Now we're talking about yards??? This is coming from a guy that clearly states that yards don't matter when it comes to Stafford lol. Which is it, bud? Because I'm fucking confused lol
As for both defenses being trash??? You're high as fuck. The only thing you have gotten right in this whole retarded argument is that both defenses got about the same amount of pressure on our QBs. That's it!!! Minnesota's offense destroyed our defense. Thielen, Diggs and especially Rudolph fucking murdered us. Murray ran all over us.
The only guy who did a damn thing on offense for us were Stafford and MJones. Golladay had some nice yds but was limited to 2 catches. They shut our running game down (no surprise), but don't sit there and tell me that both defenses were trash because they weren't. That's a flat out lie. Minnesota made plays when they needed to (INT and strip sack). Lions D did squat. Get your fucking head out of your ass, bruh....

I'm honestly sick and tired of getting mad over this shit, dude. I don't want to call names anymore either. I just get frusturated like everyone else. I listen to 97.1 religiously and these guys are fucking clueless when it comes to football talk. The only guy that makes sense on that program is Mike Sullivan because he played the game and he sees what Stafford has to deal with. You got guys calling up that radio station putting it all on Stafford. And spewing the same fucking nonsense about his contract and complaining that he can't get the job done. Stafford doesn't play defense, he doesn't run the ball, he doesn't call all the plays and he doesn't block for himself or his RBs. He CAN'T do it by himself. Does he need to be better? YES! Should he be more accountable because he is the QB? ABSOLUTELY! But he needs help for his teammates and only a few are doing their jobs. It's that simple. He's not Aaron Rodgers and he's not Tom Brady....

What are you talking about strip sack. The only fumble lost was when Stafford couldn't get it to AA cleanly.

Minnesota ran the ball well for one drive (4 plays) to start the second half. Other then that they got 32 yards on 29 carries. So for 58 minutes they did nothing on the ground.

Only mentioned yards because you brought up 420 yards. So just showing the difference is from not shooting yourself in the foot.

Is the problem Bob Quinn or coaching?

The impression I get from this board is that either Stafford is capable of holding the team back at times or Stafford is the main reason the team does well but he's surrounded by garbage. I know the answer is somewhere in between, but somebody's head should roll if this team misses the playoffs with a fairly light schedule.

I don't believe anyone here wants to keep Caldwell or JBC.

I'd like to move Austin to HC and have him bring in an aggressive OC and DC.

I wouldn't mind Patricia either. I don't want anything to do with McDaniel, though.

Austin hasn't shown me he'd be a good HC. As far as Caldwell, imo a playoff appearance but a loss he should still be gone. They have to have a higher standard than just getting to the playoffs.

Made a mistake on the strip sack. My bad. And the fumble wasn't on Stafford. Abdullah got there too early. Stafford had to reach and it went off AA's hip...

And it doesn't matter when Murray had that long run. He had it. 80 yds and a TD spells gashed.

Our defense shit the bed but did what they always do. Play tough late when they're already down too much. Then sll the pressure is on the offense. Minnesota pins their ears back and tees off. That's a recipe for failure...

That's about as accurate description of our team as I ever heard.

tony i understand cause he's a blind homer. You were obviously drunk on thanksgiving. The offense went 3 n out and then fumbled the ball in scoring range to start the game. All on stafford.
