Game 12: Bears @ Lions *Thanksgiving* Thread

https://www.prideofdetroit.com/2019...ing-recap-draft-order-matthew-stafford-update
Pride Of Detroit Lions Podcast: How realistic is a top-three pick for the Detroit Lions? 77 minutes.
The PODcast crew recaps the Thanksgiving game and looks at some surprising Week 13 results.

After the Detroit Lions? eighth loss in nine games, plus a pretty fortunate turn of events across the league in Week 13, the Lions are in a pretty good spot to earn a top 10 pick. But just how high could their pick go?

The Lions are currently sixth in draft order, but as both John and I explained earlier in the day, based on schedule and current trends, Detroit could be much higher by the end of the month.

That?s the big topic of debate on this week?s episode of the PODcast. Myself and Ryan Mathews also try to take away some positives from Thursday?s loss to the Chicago Bears, and try to decipher exactly what the Lions? plans are for Matthew Stafford in 2019 considering some puzzling roster moves following the Bears game.

You can catch it all, plus our weekly mailbag segment in the latest episode of the PODcast.

We learned this year that there is no such thing as momentum from the previous season. You're either better or you're not. Lose out.
Losing out doesn't guarantee a thing either. Looking back when Matt was drafted he was consensus to go 1 and even if you think he's elite we still can't win. We had Suh couldn't win and got for nothing for him. Other top players failed like Ansah. When we had a top defense and our top QB we still didn't win. We had Matt throwing to CJ for years, still nothing. 3 1st round TEs. By 3 different GM by the way.

In case my post wasn't obvious just remember the big time FA we signed, still can't win and early on was bad.

And if I'm still not obvious the Fords.

The Lions need to get established people. No first time GM or first time coaches. If Ford knew anything about football fire Quinn get an established GM who fires Patty and go get Rivera.

It guarantees a higher pick which has a higher chance of yielding better talent. Winning games guarantees us a lower pick which has a lower chance of yielding better talent. Those are the guarantees.

Exactly. If you pick 10th there are 9 guys that you can't select. If you pick first you get anybody you want.

Of course, the Lions could easily screw up any pick..from 1-150
