Game 15: Lions @ Bears Thread

I don't think the Ansah play was that bad....He is trying to make a tackle.....

Well they won I think dumbass dom really fired em up after that ankle stomp, what a jackass

Show down in lambo week 17 winner gets a home playoff game loser goes on the road, lions offense still looking pretty shitty overall

And I agree on the late hit on ziggy I don't think that was intentional, what Dom did looked pretty damn intentional to me and I wouldn't be surprised if he is suspended next week..what a colossal assclown

Amazingly, as shitty as they look, they are doing exactly what Lombardi is asking them to do. Short passes, efficient, and then look for the big play down field when it develops.

Granted, today Stafford threw two picks in the red zone, but for the most part they haven't been turning over the ball much either.

They are managing the field well, and limiting mistakes. This is no Denver offense at all, but it's really no worse than a few teams, including the Ravens in 2000, who won championships.

I don't think anybody can call this a Super Bowl contender and say it with a straight face. Just not an impressive team.

Honestly I think Crapola should get 2 games.

I would disagree. Great defenses win championships. The way the Lions have played on D, they could be a threat as much as anyone.

Besides, we all know that the path to the SuperBowl is more about which team gets hot at the end, than which team is more talented.

The best teams rarely win it, and the teams with momentum do.

The only thing that may save his ass is the final series. He was apologizing and explaining himself to the Bears, and had Jared Allen laughing his and giving him a friendly head slap.

He may be able to explain to the NFL that "I was stumbling and couldn't stop, and didn't mean to do it. Ferguson came back in a few plays later, so there was no real injury" or something.

If the Bears players were okay with him, the NFL may go easy, if his story is good enough.

On the road? Against a good QB? Haven't so far..Unless they somehow beat GB next week I don't see them beating Seattle at their place..infact even a GB win they will mostly likely play Seattle at their place..

Good news is when we end up with a road playoff game we willat least be going against a team with a shitty home record.

Hey bro, I am not saying the Lions are going to cake-walk their way to a title.

I am saying that 12 teams make the playoffs every year, and ANY of those teams has a legit shot at winning it all, because it's often more about momentum than talent.

In recent years the Giants beat the Pats TWICE in the SuperBowl. One of those years the Pats were undefeated and both of those wins had the Giants enter the playoffs as a wild card team.

The best team usually doesn't win it all, the hottest team does. Ask the 2013 Broncos.

I'm not sure 3 blowups and 2 close games against shitty competition is considered momentum.

Don't under estimate division wins, sometimes they are ugly games. You know the Bears came out with the only thing to play for trying to spoil the Lions season. The Patriots beat the Jets by 1 today on the road. I guess that means they have no shot in the playoffs.

Yes because a +163 differential and 1st round bye is the exact same as a +49 and 6th seed.

The man is right... on all points.

And any argument I would make to say the Lions are contenders, I would make for every single team headed into the playoffs. Including the Falcons.

After next week, there will be 12 legit contenders for the big title. Any team on any given Sunday.

I'm not even sure how anyone can argue. By the time the AFC and NFC championship games take place, there will have been a minimum of two upsets. It happens every damned year. We all watch it, we all see it, and we all know it.

An upset is when a team gets beats by a team that never should have beaten them. The playoffs is a crapshoot. Any of the 12 teams can win it all, and the history of wild card teams winning it all should speak volumes.

The point was that any team even the best in the league can play tough games against average to below average division opponents. Don't forget the packers only beat the Vikings by 3 the last time they played them.
