Game #162 Chicago @ Detroit, Sunday, September 29th, 2024

Some guy called 97.1 the ticket and actually said the secret to the tigers pitching success was have a veteran like Maeda to teach the 'yutes....I thought at first that I'd like a bag of what that clown was smoking...then I realized it was...shit.
If that did happen, would be pretty interesting to witness, considering Maeda cant speak english.

TALKIN’ TIGS.
Totally Tigers

We’ve been waiting a decade for this……..
But it seemed longer, didn’t it?
For the 1st time since 2014, the Detroit Tigers are headed to the playoffs!!
Just a couple months ago, their chances were listed at 3%. A couple weeks ago, up to app. 70%.
Today, 100%.
The season just finished and the playoff games (best of 3) start on Tuesday.
In honor of their achievement – their very unexpected achievement – we’re opening up today’s blog for fans to comment. Whatever you want to say about the 2024 Detroit Tigers.
And we’re expanding comments for this day only to 6 sentences max.
Sooo, what’s on your mind??

Players on the 2024 Tigers with:
150+ hits: 0
75+ RBI: 0
25+ HR: 0
25+ SB: 0
They're the first MLB team ever to make the playoffs in a 162-game season without having any players reach any of those marks.

The Detroit Tigers 2024 regular season:
86-76 overall
28-24 vs division
31-24 in 1 run games
+40 RDiff
6 seed in AL
Onto Houston

The Tigers drew 128,108 fans for this weekend's three-game series against the White Sox. It's the highest attended three-game set at Comerica Park since July 20-22, 2012, when the Tigers drew 128,741 fans.

GRADING THE TIGERS: CATCHERS.
Totally Tigers

Now that the season – and the playoffs – are over, this is the perfect time to reflect upon the 2024 year and grade players, management and Front Office. We’re going to divide the roster down by position in order to foster careful reflection and comments. Every day you’ll be asked to evaluate a small group of Tigers.
In most of the forthcoming blogs, there will be multiple opportunities to vote so please cast a vote for every poll you see on this page.
You will not be asked to grade players who have been traded or those with a very small sample size. We are also not offering a letter grade of E for the reason that anyone playing that poorly would have been released or sent down to the minors.
As you consider each player, we ask that you look at their entire skill set, not just hitting. Consider defense, speed, the ability to call a game and clutch ability.
Consider that the slash line is a more valuable indicator instead of just batting average and that a player’s role and position in the lineup are also factors. That defensive range and defensive runs saved (DRS) are a better gauge than fielding percentage. And that ERA and WHIP tell more about a pitcher than wins and losses.

Today, we’re starting off with catchers. There are 2 polls here to complete. Afterwards, you may leave your rationale in the comment section. Three sentences only please.
