Game 2: Titans @ Lions Thread

Look at the images again. Whitehead attempted to punch the ball out but couldn't. Give credit to Mariota for being ballsy and Johnson made a great play. The coverage was great. What don't you understand???

it was 4th down. we put a LB on a top 20 all time WR. The "great coverage" resulted in a big fat L. What dont you understand? It was a dumb play call, and whitehead faceguarded, didnt know where the fuck the ball was, didnt make a play on the ball....and we lost. It was shitty coverage that lost us the game.

Good play by the Titans but the defense needs to step up and make a play. They didn't make a play against Indy either. Fortunately they called a stupid TO and we got a FG. The defense also failed today when we needed to stop them with 3 minutes left, 2 first downs later - game over.

Andre Johnson is fucking horrible now lol. Put the top 20 WR of all time to bed....it's weak. It was good coverage and the throw never should have been made. AJ had one more play in him that game and made it count. Whitehead didn't turn his head...agreed. If he did, I guarantee you that he would have separated from Johnson. Blaming Whitehead is a clear indication that you know little about the game.

Caldwell kicks a 50 yarder out doors but not 56 yarder in a dome with a kicker with a strong leg :/

Werid.

Seattle dos commit a lot of pi and def holding already. They are coached too. We better get some calls against them

No. 6: Detroit Lions at No. 3: Seattle Seahawks

Saturday | 8:15 p.m. ET | NBC | Game HQ page

Referee: Brad Allen

Lions' history in his games: 0-2

Seahawks' history in his games: 2-1

Allen worked two Lions games this season, a Week 2 loss to the Tennessee Titans and a Week 8 loss to the Texans.
In the Week 2 game, he called a whopping 31 penalties -- including 18 against the Lions -- in a game in which the Lions gave up a 12-point fourth-quarter lead. ...
That game was not an aberration; Allen's crew called at least 20 penalties in five games and finished the season with an NFL-high average of 18.4 penalties per game. ...
In particular, his crew led the NFL with 62 offensive holding penalties and 30 for defensive pass interference.

I am not a conspiracy theory guy......but I don't think this crew was chosen at random. That Tennessee game was fucking rediculous......we have ZERO chance if this game is called the same way.

Only the same head referee, the rest of the crew is different. For some reason they change it up for the playoffs.

Edit: So apparently it's not always a completely different crew, however Allen's crew will be entirely different.

Hochuli will have two of his crew members with him on Sunday, and Wrolstad will have one. Allen and Torbert will be working with an entirely different crew.

Postseason assignments are set based on the grading process that applies to every regular-season game, with the goal being to use the referees who performed the best during the season for the games that have the most meaning.
