Get StartedWho cares if he was step for step if he has no clue where the ball is. If he had any awareness, he could have just reached up and knocked it away.Whitehead was step for step with him. In his lap..that is how you defend when on the run plus with safety help. Do you even football bro?

Really? He looks pretty clueless as to where the ball is to me. And who cares about Bush? He was behind Johnson. If he tried to make a play, it would have been a PI in the end zone.He had a clue and arms were up. It was great coverage but good throw with time and catch. Bush was there too. Music city miracle part two
Whitehead almsot jarred it lose. Such a miracle. You cant double cover better than that..incredible defense

Whitehead is good. 2014, 2015 confirm this. Up and down so far but good in run.
And that was good coverage. Johnson made a great play
If it was good coverage we would be 2-0.

I only bring up Kuechly because that play would never happen with him in coverage, facing the QB. Whitehead was in perfect position, but not even knowing the ball was in the air means he already lost that battle. DBs are always ridiculed for not turning their heads, but you're giving Whitehead a pass for the same thing (minus the PI call).

It was good coverage. Watch the play again. You can't ask for any better. Turning your head isn't always the solution there. Turning your head could result in losing Johnson on the pattern. Whitehead was in Johnson's back pocket for fuck sakes lol.
If you're going to play it dumb and face guard...then atleast knock the ball out off Johnsons hands. He literally ran with him and did nothing.
