Game 5: Eagles @ Lions Thread

It worked for two quarters and last drive

1 quarter and the drive stalled on the last drive. Which is my point....relying on that type of offense is very inconsistent when youre not efficient at executing. Tom Brady does alot of the same stuff....the difference is he is more consistent at executing. Were more consistent at having major breakdowns that stall drives. Regardless, if you have a defense sucked up to the LOS with a single high safety....you should be able to do SOMETHING to take advantage of that and make them pay.....we dont even try....its dumb.

Lions scored in 2nd qtr too. Eagles allowed 9 ppg. We scored 24

sure looked like Ryan Mathews gifted the Lions that win. The Lions offense still had to get within FG range but that fumble was certainly a gift.

Slay made a great play twice. Stud player. Nothing was gifted

Nah, I see what you guys are talking about and if I find something related I put it in that thread.
there is another one from PFT.

Ref threw flag in Detroit, not knowing which team was on offense. that ref Morelli.

Honestly i didnt know how to call that one. Phi guy definitely "touched it" while OOB but didnt neccesarily have possession. Then our guy Touched it while laying on a guy that was laying out of bounds.....not sure the technical call there either. All of this because 2 of our morons whiffed on trying to pick up the ball in the first place.

Tough call....could of went either way....we probably got a break. We definitely deserved a break one of these weeks.

I just went back and watched it. Kelce had his hand out of bounds when he touched it. So based on the rule it should of remained phi ball. But it was a 3rd down play. Clock stops so phi has to punt.

Did it give the lions a win. No. Did the lions catch a break yes.

If it was the other way around would there have been an unbelievable amount of bitching on how we got screwed...without question.

Lions caught a break and took advantage. Good for them.

Slay made a great play. Helmet on the ball. Why the fuck is everything the Lions do the other teams fault? Lol. Fucking Christ...can't they do anything to make you tards happy? Gift my ass...

The Eagles are pissed about it too. So no, it's not just another Lions fanbase bitchfest. Make that clear....

It doesn't matter. But my guess is because Matthews was carrying to ball in the wrong arm. Also it didn't look like Slay was going for a force fumble. He went low, turned away and Matthews arm hit the side of slays helmet. He was wrapping up the legs.

Slay was in position to make a play and we were rewarded. Good for Slay good for the lions.

I didn't say they weren't bitcing. The team that is on the bad side always thinks they were robbed. Fact is that one play didn't decide the game.

Lions caught a break. That's a fact. It happens over the course of a season both ways.

And you can be out of bounds and just touch the ball that's in bounds and that gives you possession? That doesn't even make a lick of sense...lol. Is it a dead ball? Doesn't someone have to actually have possession of the ball?

You fucking guys crack me up lol. Your backhanded compliments are money. Slay made a good play but he really didn't mean to do that. Matthews arm hit Slay's helmet.....lol. Fucking classic. It pains you guys just to give credit where credits due but you can't. So weird...

Once in a great while the other team gets to complain about getting hosed, just like every once in a great while ya still win when you play not to lose. I still wouldn't recommend that unless your defense is top notch which the lions aren't. Caldwell and Jim bob got away with playing not to lose Sunday. Not impressed, they don't get that there is nothing to lose in Detroit. I do like how focused stafford seems to be so far this year though acting like a general getting in guys faces when they run the wrong routes etc.. Hope that continues.

So it's your position slay was going for the strip and Mathews was solid in ball protection?
