Game 5: Packers @ Lions Thread

Good game. I hate the defense we played in the 2nd half but a W is a W.

Should have had about 150 more yards and AT LEAST 13 more points if not for 2 penalties and the Marvin Jones drop.

At some point, we have to NOT leave points like that on the field. Get healthy and pound the Dolphins in 2 weeks!!

We scored a TD on the drive Jones dropped and the one questionable call on Ragnow we ended up getting the ball back on the 1 after the punt touch/recover at the 1..that punt doesn't happen if we scored.

So your at least 13 points is deeply flawed.

You?re right....should have said 17.

I was being polite...you were flat out wrong and made a idiotic statement.

Nope. Those plays need to be made. You certainly can’t count on muffed punts to make up for penalties or terrible drops.

You’re looking at it differently. I don’t care what ended up happening on the possession....I’m looking at points that could/should have been scored on those plays. They are points left out there.....and cannot happen if we want to be a good team.

But they would have scored the same.amount regardless.

You also can't count on offsides to give you a risk free down field throw.

But the play was made. It was there. Jones has it.

To play your game......do we even go deep without the offsides??

Either way. Play needs to be made. When points are quite literally in your hands or the plays are made....cannot take dumb penalties or drop open passes. Not if they want to be a good team.

They probably don't throw deep..who knows what happens if there isn't a offsides. Could have thrown a pick 6, could have picked up a few yards, could have made the drive a field goal attempt.

Typically when people say left points on the field they refers to drives that didn't score, or they would have scored more if

Honestly not sure if the Jones play even counts as a drop, not like it was a easy play. They got the win, that's all that matters.

Nobody plays perfect football, seems like that's what you think we should be doing. this game was a lot cleaner than the Jets or 49ers game.

You want to complete that pass?... go watch the Wilson to locket td. Same distance.... Wilson with a perfect pass with touch for an easy touchdown. Stafford rockets it off a diving Jones' fingertips. Learn how to fucking let your guys make a play...ESPECIALLY when there's no risk on a defensive offsides. Just a plain retarded throw imo.

Question...could Golladay actually be more a more physical presence than Megatron? Scary thought. He's been absolutely beasting so far this year on every level.

We?ve already discussed what an idiot you are about this throw. Jones had it in his hands, not off his fingertips, and had it pressed against his body. He dropped it.

He.

Dropped.

It.

It?s not difficult.

No. It?s close, though. Guy is a fuckin beast. Best draft pick of the Quinn era?

Hes a stud, that's for sure. The effort on the play he forced a fumble won me over. Amazing effort, I don't think I'd ever seen a wr clean somebodies clock like that to get the ball back.

Not perfect. Would have been a great catch. One you would like to see, but far from an easy catch.

"Two Packers jump offside on second down, giving Stafford carte blanche to take a shot downfield to Marvin Jones. Jones makes an admirable diving effort on the play, but is unable to hold onto the ball as he goes to the ground."

You were watching a different game. He was laid out and never had it anywhere near his body. Now i understand why youre so difficult....youre blind.
