Game 5: Packers @ Lions Thread

Last time the lions beat the Packers three games in a row was

December 22 1990.. 24-17 in a meaningless game to improve to 6-9. Packers were also 6-9 after the game.

In 1991 as you all remember it was one of the Lions best season finishing 12-4 and beating Dallas in the playoffs before losing in the nfc title game.

Beat packers in second game of the season to go to 1-1 by a score 23-17, and on December 15th by a score of 21-17 to improve to 11-4. I do not think we will win in Green Bay this year.

Anybody with half a brain knew that was a drop but you got guys like brewer and Hughes saying that it wasn't or eluding that it wasn't. Was the throw perfect?? Fuck no but 9/10 times MJ catches that ball.

bottom line....too many missed opportunities from our offense. He had Tate wide open down the sideline...missed him by 8 yards. Our offense was so bad a team with 2 strip sacks, fumbled punt against them would have beat us if not for their kicker missing 5 kicks. Who can you possible commend for a job well done in that game other than mayyyybe a kerryon johnson and Golladay? Defense completely disappeared in the second half. Offense almost pissed the game away. We were bailed out several times on calls that we typically see go against us...like the PF on their corner after a drive ending breakup. 3rd n 23 and they legitimately convert a 1st down 2 plays later. Slay was broken. Amazingly...the only person on the defense making plays was Lawson. MVP of our team was the opposing kicker lol...thats sad. Okwara, Hand and Kennard each got pressure 1 time in the game early...then took the rest of the game off.
 
We did what we supposed to do tho. That's WIN

Offense was effective too. Actually ran the ball well and got into the endzone instead of kicking FGs. We didn't need Stafford to win us this game but when we needed him most, he delivered with a big TD to MJ.

Defense is still trash IMO. We did cause some TOs and had some timely sacks but hey got gashed through the air because Rodgers had all day. Hard to believe that we're up there in sacks as a team. It sure as hell doesn't feel like it lol.

We put 30+ points on the board. In the NFL, that's huge. You live in a fucking fantasy world bro if you think all 22 players are going to click on all cylinders. They did enough to win that game with some timely plays and a little luck from Crosby. Take a pill

Our 3 losses are against teams below .500. That means you suck and need to play better than an opposing teams kicker giving us the game after being up 24 at home and letting the other team come back. Especially when you dont catch a break on your schedule again until mid decemeber. Nothing but bears, vikings, rams, carolina in the forseeable future. Both sides of the ball need to improve drastically imo to be anywhere near .500 over the next 7-8 weeks.

I know we suck!!! lol. This team isn't getting any better this yr. But the offense is looking good IMO. Of course they need some work. They need a fucking TE is what's missing. It's killing this offense the most if you ask me. Imagine Ebron in this offense?? Wait...scratch that. Cooter would just take him out of the redzone anyways lol. He lives in the redzone in Indy.
I'm more worried about our defense. Like you said, we give up 24 at home and should have been more!!! That's unacceptable.
We won't make the playoffs, we'll win probably 4-5 games. Get a top 10 pick and HOPEFULLY build that defense up. Tweak a few things on offense but they're not the main problem. Our defense is pure junk
 
Watched the recording and I must say what I liked the most was it looks like JBC finally figured out Blount is a short yardage back only! Bout time that dumbass finally figured that out only took him the entire preseason and 5 weeks into the regular season better late then never I guess. dipshit cooter.

Im actually pumped about what are defense could look like after Ansahs 17 mil is gone and add into the mix a couple high profile draft picks. Projected first round is litered with front 7 defensive players. Rashan Gary would look nice as a 3-4 DE in this defense!

But seriously, you're right. Jets and Niners should have been wins, but we beat the two teams on the schedule so far that I thought for sure would be losses. Dallas was a toss-up in my mind. We win the games we should have along with the games we did and we would be 4-1.

The only problem is we are handing out 20 million in raises next year on the defense. Slay gets a 9.2 million bump alone. with Diggs getting another 3.2 million
