Game 6: Lions @ Cowboys Thread

He fumbled earlier in the game lol. You make it sound like it was a miracle or something.... he literally dropped the ball an hour before!

Chargers are more hurt. Metcalf was after a big lead. Cowboys were very healthy.

I know one day you guys will notice both teams injuries and compare

Get back to me when its Seattles top 4 of 5 WRs, top RB, two RGS, FS, half the and half Dline and facing one of the top defenses in the league.

Listening to 97.1 the football guys Jansen and Lang they said Goff Pocket awareness was horrible verses Dallas. He is checkdown Charlie. Blah, blah . He has no one. Every team is injured. Also we are awful out of half with the ball. Goff has to be better or the Lions need a qb.. Again this isn't me. This is football guys ripping JG.

We are terrible out of half. Frustrating we can't do anything with the ball anymore. First four games Goff was above average to great. Last two teams were really good defense and he struggles. He has to stop the turnovers. Biggest indictment against Goff he isn't reading the defense presnap at all.

Also they said we telegraph every short yard play. The fumble was everyone's fault. Coach waited to see if he should challenge. Then there was only a few seconds left to snap. Lions hurry. Dallas has everyone at line of scrimmage. We also hand off to Williams every damn time. We have to stop being predictable is all I'm saying.

Williams has been effective in goal line though. 2nd in league in TDs even with the bye. Got to block better too and Williams ball security and Goff's were both issues yesterday (and Goff many other days).

Goff does have terrible pocket presence. First 4 games, he had it under control and just regressed. Losing his weapons and players he trusts has something to do with it I'm sure. Dallas got some good pressure too and sometimes Goff made it worse or threw poorly even with little to no pressure. Two terrible games in a row for him against good defenses missing weapons. He's probably done after this season regardless how he finishes.

I'm not saying Williams isn't the play. But just about every short yardage play the lions do the same thing. To many patterns. Swell did fine against Parsons but sadly it wasn't enough.

Third string qb beat Tampa Bay after trading Christian.
Back up qb beat Green Bay.
Seattle all banged up is 4-3 and hitting on every freaking draft pick.
NYG 6-1 with new head coach.
NYJ 5-2 with a second year coach.

Frustrating we can't find a coach that can turn this around.

I agree with this. We are predictable at the goal line.

The Lions best running game comes when they bring ASB streaking in the backfield. Keeps that side of the defense honest and would be REALLY effective at the goal line.

But we just line up and pound it in there.

I think that is normal growing pains with a new OC. Learning how often you have to change up formations, patterns, play calls, audibles, language in this league.

I like Ben Johnson....think he is a good OC.

We do need to replace Goff.....it just depends how the draft pans out. Where are we picking? Are we high enough to grab a top QB? Do the Rams lose enough that we have 2 in the top 16? What defensive impact players are on the board.....because honestly, that is more important than replacing JG in 2023.

It is frustrating. No questions about that. If I were Sheila, would give DC one more off season, draft, and regular season before I even thought about cutting ties.

In four seasons, Jim Caldwell had three above .500 seasons and two post season appearances.

Sounds like the closest thing we?ve seen to ?turning this around? should nice the marginal success of the early 90s.

So they fired him.

And it?s been a ride of shit ever since.

Lions made playoffs 6 of 10 years in the 90s.

Then 2011, 2014, 2016 and 9-7 2017 missing playoffs.

When you reboot from Patricia era and get injured like this, it will delay things

Now 2023, 6-11, 7-10 could keep Campbell around for a 4th year given the 6 year deal.

Exactly. This roster is not worse than Washington?s or Carolinas or Chicago?s and yet the Lions are looking up at them in the standings.

You do realize the lions have only lost to teams over .500 right now don't you? The one that was bad was the patriots. They do have a better roster but this team has got to stop the run and not turn the ball over to win games

I did think the secondary played better vs Dallas. Even some some safeties make plays which was crazy! We did have the standard Amani being 10 yards away from his guy on the goal line to give up a TD. So still some stuff to clean up.
