Webvideo Highlights of the Lions 20 - 17 come from behind win over the redskins.

Stafford finished 18-for-29 passing for 266 yards with one touchdown. He has now led 24 game-winning drives in the fourth quarter or overtime in his career, and his NFL-best 22nd since 2011.

Rookie Graham Glasgow started over a healthy Laken Tomlinson at left guard. It was the first time Tomlinson did not start since Detroit took him 28th overall in last year's draft.

Clay Harbor started for Eric Ebron at tight end, and Zach Zenner earned a second straight start because of injuries to Ameer Abdullah, Theo Riddick and Dwayne Washington at running back.

Long snapper Don "Death and Taxes" Muhlbach played in his 187th game for Detroit. That ties Robert Porcher for fifth most in franchise history. Next up on that list is Jeff Backus, who played in 191.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford played in the 100th game of his career, and did so with the most yards and completions by a quarterback in that span of time. He also became eligible to

Darius Slay left the game in the second quarter with a hamstring injury and did not return. Johnson Bademosi replaced him -- and immediately gave up a first-down catch, then later dropped a sure pick.

Stafford: “I’d like to close out one of these earlier in the game, but that didn’t happen today,” he said. “We know that no one believes in us, but we believe in each other, and that’s all it takes.”

Marvin Jones: “We’ve got one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and he makes it fun to be out there with him,” Jones said. “We’re trying to get down the field, and he throws me a side-arm pass. I don’t know who else can do that.”

Golden Tate: “He’s just a special player,” Golden Tate said. “We know No. 9 is going to step up and lead us, and we love him. We knew we had time, because Coach Caldwell gives us tougher situations than that every day in practice, and then he throws for 20 and runs for 20, and we’re right there.”

Caldwell: “I think you are seeing the effects of veteran leadership,” Lions coach Jim Caldwell said. “Matthew has been around the block a time or two, and he never backs down from a tough situation. He has shown many times that he’s dangerous at that time of a game, and the players around him know that.”

Matthew Stafford moves past Hall of Famer Joe Namath in all-time passing yards.
espn
Stafford finished the game with 266 yards passing and is now at 27,890 yards for his career. That's the most of any quarterback in NFL history in his first 100 games.
Stafford could move up some more places next Sunday as well. Craig Morton is at No. 57 with 27,908 yards, followed by Hall of Famers Ken Stabler (27,938) and Terry Bradshaw (27,989).

Sam Martin, leads league in 50+ yard punts. He added to that today with punts of 51 and 58. Sam Martin is phenomenal.

To prevent a hail mary type play 6’7″ defensive end Devin Taylor played Free Safety.

I'm convinced at this point Stafford is sandbagging games so he has a shot at the all time 4th quarter comeback record.

Kaline, that tweet by Bayless and subsequent backpedal was HILARIOUS!!! So many idiots employed by the major networks lol.

At least with the Cowboys on bye we don't have to listen to Aikman's stupid mouth.

It's a skewed number because the D has put them in such bad positions so often. I could do with a few less comebacks if it meant breathing easier the final 5 minutes more often.

What moron tweets a win in a one score difference, with time remaining in an NFL game...lolz.

Then Skippy tries to cover his idiocy and tweets that his "prediction" barely held up. when it epic failed...who taught him how to tweet....Donald Trump?

Iggles just def Visqueens, maybe Lions can go 1-1 this season.

eagles had 20 pressures 16 hits and forced 5 fumbles by knocking the ball out of bradfords hands 5 times....you think our dline can do that? lol

Glasgow didnt have any rememerable bad plays at LG. Warford got trucked a couple times on the right side. For the most part the oline played well. I thought we should have had more than 13 points in the 4th quarter for the protection we were getting. Combination of Some bad drops and bad play calling. Too many Zenner sweeps/stretch plays....dunno wtf they were doing. And that 3rd n 1, 7 yd deep counter was an awful call.

It was mostly the Vikings D which led to their 5-0 record, that I was referring to. I also posted "maybe" b/c Lions.

One of the times Warford got ran over was because he was tripped by Forsett....who was going out for a pass.

Zenner is a straight line guy. Quick hitters and goal line carries ONLY. I don't know why JC and JBC don't realize that. I bet we left 30+ rushing yards out there.

Haven't been able to watch the last two games, but I'm glad Glasgow is holding up. The kid has a great story. From walk on at UM, to almost being kicked off the team, then being transformed into an All Big10 lineman, and finally a respectable draft pick. Couldn't be happier for the kid.

I went to penn state ohio state game. Lion game second best this week

Impressive that Detroit's D held the Skins to 17 points. Hopefully Slay can play next week. 2 weeks til our bye week...

I went to penn state ohio state game. Lion game second best this week

nice....happy valley looked crazy. As far as being a "stud" team. we had 13 points and were losing with only 19 seconds left.

The opposing qb had completed 77% of his passes.

The lions single handedly resurrected Vernon Davis' career.

If Matt Jones didnt keep giving us the ball for no apparent reason....the stud team would have lost bad.

Stafford stepped up at the end of the game and earned his paycheck.

Stud team. Held skins to 17 without slay, ngata and levy

The Lions were out played for most of the game. They were out gained 417 - 344, time of possession 35 min to 25, Skins were 9-15 on third downs; more passing yards and rushing yards. The Lions came away with a win because of a nice game winning TD drive and because the Skins kept shooting themselves in the foot. This is not a stud team but they won the game. No right minded person would consider this a "Stud team"
