Game 9: Browns @ Lions Thread

Week 10 isn't working out in the Lions' favor at all. 6-3 Seahawks won vs @ 4-5 Cardinals, and hold one of the 2 WC spots, 7-2 Vikings won @ 4-5 Redskins, 5-4 Packers won @ 3-6 Bears, 5-3 Cowboys vs @ 4-4 Falcons is almost a wash, or perhaps slightly better if the Falcons win, (score currently 24-7 ATL 4th) and need 4-4 Dolphins to win vs @ 6-3 Panthers on MNF.

1-7 Giants are losing vs @ the 0-9 Niners 17-13 in the 4th, in an epic battle for a chance @ the NFL's #1 overall '18 draft pick.

As weird as it is to say......I think the team I'd like to see least in the playoffs is the Rams.

Greatest show on turf, the remix.

The Giants are one bad football team

I do not however feel sorry for them at all

I like the rams.

Love the jags defense.... but they need work on offense.

Saints a surprise this year.

Saints have a D this year.
I feel the same about the Jags
Eagles good all around team. Not quite as good as their record.....but good.
Rams offense is loaded and McVey is a fucking genius. He's as good as Michigan fans THINK Hokebaugh is.

In the NFC it's the Eagles, Vikings, Saints and Rams and a group of 4-5 teams fighting for 2 spots.

Although the rewoke Falcons are playing more like the NFC champs that they were vs the Zekeless Cowboys, and not since @ Lions, the Saints are winning big ala the Rams each week, and could win the NFCS title by multiple games (absent any key injuries).

31-21 final Niners...who's your daddy, Gnats?

Everyone

Think that I'll mosey on over to SB Nation Big Blue(s) View and read some of their game thread's comments.

HC and manning will be gone by next year.

Lions might be facing Bridgewater instead of Keenum on TGD. Don't see why the Vikings' coaching staff would consider it, unless the FO pressures them into doing so.

Matthew Stafford's three touchdowns Sunday moved him past Jim Everett for No. 39 all-time in touchdown passes. Stafford now has 204 in his career. Next up for Stafford is former Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings quarterback Randall Cunningham, who had 207 career touchdowns. Stafford also became the fastest-ever quarterback to 30 game-winning drives, doing it in 118 games -- six faster than his friend, Matt Ryan, who did it in 124 games.

Rams, Eagles and Saints are head and shoulders better than the Lions. MN is better too but not by that much because they have a shitty QB

The lions are what thier record says they are

Slightly above average

at this point in the season I think we have a pretty good feel as to what teams are. Looking at the Lions season so far...

beat the cards who are a bad team
beat the Giants who are a terrible team
Lost to ATL who are an average team
Beat MN who is an above avg team
Lost to the Panthers who are an average team
Lost to the Saints who are a good team
Lost to the Steelers who are an above average team
Beat GB who are a below average team (without AR)
Beat the Browns who are a terrible team

The lone feather in the Lions cap is a win at MN

with a ton of bad teams left on the schedule. No arod and one of the weakest schedules in the league... if this ist the year i dont know if it'll ever happen.

MONDAY COUNTDOWN: Lawson makes amends with big TD.

With 6 catches today, @ShowtimeTate aka Golden has tied hall of fame tight end Charlie Sanders for 6th most receptions in #Lions history.
He ranks 9th all time in receiving yards, a short distance from taking 8th all time.
Tate also ranks 1st all time in receptions per game for Lions.

That's a pretty damn big feather, though. And that Atlanta game still pisses me of. A likely W without that stupid rule.

6-1 for 11-5
5-2 for 10-6

Lions are good enough for that talent, execution and coaching wise which makes them a good team if they do it. Especially if they sweep Minnesota doing it.

Tough stretch for Minnesota...home vs Rams, Lions in Detroit on a short week, away at Atlanta, then at Carolina.

Take care of business in Chicago and the Lions could have a real shot to take over the division with a win on Turkey Day.

Next two weeks are huge

Also, if the WC is in play, the tiebreak will likely be conference record for whichever NFC East or West team is in the hunt (any viable South team wins head to head). Lions are currrently 4-3 with Minnesota, GB, TB, & Chicago x2 left to play.

If Minnesota wins on Thanksgiving, head to head will be tied, division record could be too, the tiebreak will go to common games after those two. The Lions and Vikings will ultimately have 12 common games (4 in division, 4 vs NFC South, 4 vs AFC North), but with only the games played, the Vikings are 3-1 and the Lions are 2-2.
