Game 9: Dolphins @ Lions Thread

And everyone talking about that 3rd and 6 play where Stafford should have thrown to Reggie but got the sack. That play never even happens if Pettigrew doesn't false start. 3rd and 1 and Pettigrew gets a penalty.

Worse was the incompletion to CJ when Staff thought he had the offsides (which clearly was not an offsides).
Why do you throw a ball 5 yards over the head of your 6'5" WR when you think you have a free play? In staffords mind there was no downside, if you throw an interception it doesn't count because of the "penalty". Still misses him by a huge amount.

Penalties were killers yesterday. Detroit needs to clean that up again.

But you have a chance to overcome the penalty. What kind of mentality is, well the guy before me fucked up so why can't I. Elite players cover others mistakes.

There was contact by the defender on that play I thought too. That is what he was yelling about.

Stafford tried to run for it. Wake is very fast and came from behind.

And Stafford did cover for everyone mistakes with his 2 TD passes. And made several plays on the three field goal attempt drives as well.

Stafford does seem to be better in the hurry up is seems.. Maybe Lombardi should look into that?

I'll put 3 out 8 non TD drives on Staffords shoulders. You could look around the league and find every QB that had the same results or worse.

but I thought "we bought in" and have changed our ways. Then why are we still talking about dumb penalty after dumb penalty killing drives? Still talking about questionable play calling from our ocord. Questionable clock management by our HC. The only difference I see this year is the ball bouncing our way more than it has in the past. NO and ATL games weve talked about at nauseum. Where are we against Miami if on 4th n 6 calvin doesn't tip the ball to himself 3 times and catch it? Shit is working out in the end...but the path were taking to get there is not good football. Its good defense...and that's about it.

At this point the only way to get this offense filming my consistently is to adjust the tempo. I would run uptempo more consistently through a game and give Stafford more no huddle especially when we play at home. Tiring out the defense makes the offense much more effective and it puts Stafford more in control earlier in games.

Stafford ranked 26th out of 37 QBs via PFF for the year.

The luck is not in our favor. It just finally even as opposed to against us in 2012/2013. You want bad luck, that tip back to Clay for a big gainer on their last FG drive. A freaking blocked FG that set up a 3 yard TD for them. The non PI call on the 2 point against Atlanta. Missing 11 FGs now including 3 against Buffalo.

We are playing good football and earning every win. You said last year we only earned 7 wins in 16. Well you can't back track and go the other way now.

We have normal luck right now. And we are earning everything we get too. Great many plays in the last 3 wins. It wasn't one play here or there. But like every team, room for improvement. Pass pro, run game and penalties are our spots.

Lots of bad pass pro and down and distance. They ranked him poorly in 2011 too. I'm fine with that because it's clear Stafford is doing a ton to get us wins. And it's funny when he's ranked 6th everyone completely disregards PFF. Very good 2013 season. But now you seem to always bring it more when it hurts Stafford. Haters being haters. The guy is a winner and good Qb.

Pass protection is irrelevant. These ratings are based on the player only. If an average QB would make the play they are rated 0. If the sack is because of poor protection, or incomplete because of no WR getting open it does not hurt the QBs rating.

Its based on non biased opinion. Last year you stated it was gold, can't go back and say its not important now. Can't have it both ways.

My opinion is he continues to be average. He's done nothing g to disprove that. Others think he is worse than average. One guy thinks he is very good.

Pass pro does matter. Can't make more good plays if you are on your back. That's obvious. Less opportunities to shine.

Admit Stafford was fucking good last year then if you are going to use PFF. That's all I'm saying. I don't care his grade if we win and it's obvious he is making big plays.
