Game 9: Dolphins @ Lions Thread

Shutting down the Dolphins run game was impressive this week too.

Stafford is getting credit for the last drive to take the lead. Of course, nobody is talking about him letting Miami off the hook in the first 1/2 with that stupid pick in the end zone. His defense gives him the ball 1st and 10 in Miami territory and he gives them the ball back on the very next play.

Stafford gets credit for 10 points in like 55+ minutes. Thats not good offense when youre starting drives on your side of the field the entire game....pathetic really. The 7 points in the last minute was impressive though...no doubt.

I agree though...you cant demoralize your defense like that by giving the ball away on the very next play.... miracle catch or not....wasnt a smart decision.

One on one midget against Calvin. Smart decisiion. Underthrown and miracle catch.

13 points and a missed field goal. Then a great last 7. That's a good day against a good defense. Especially with 2 sacks killing 2 drives, Riddick run turning potential 7 into 3, a holding on Pettigrew killing a drive and a Calvin OPI killing a drive.

That is where you should have quit typing.

Everything I said in the rest of that post was the truth and gave great context of what actually happened to end drives. Ignore the sacks and offensive penalties all you want. Just makes you dumb.

So as long as absolutely nothing goes wrong stafford can be an efficient QB. Got it.

He doesnt get any credit for the 3 points from the ihedigbo pick....or was that the one that was blocked?

A sack on 3rd down ends drives. A monster 10 yard penalty are tough to get out of when you need 20 yards. He's actually pretty good on 3rd and very long this year. Big reason we are winning.

Ihedigo pick then Stafford picked next play.

Thanks for reminding me...hard to keep straight all the crappy drives we had in the first 3 qtr. Stafford was the man again when we needed him to be.....thats what makes it so frustrating for me....my god our offense would be denveresque if we coukd put it all together like we do in tge last minutes of games.

Oline has been better last couple weeks. Warlord being out will hurt....have to see how samsonite steps in. Waddle could be out again too?

We were 1/10 on 3rd downs at one point....thats not good at any distance.

He was sacked twice on 3rd down. One was the play when he was trying to run despite having a dump off option, and got caught from behind. It was a zero yard sack. Part of that sack is squarely on him. It he would of been aware of the guy behind hi me could of dumped off for the first.

The other was a big sack that turned a 41 yard field goal into a 50. It was made so no harm.

Well 2 sacks killed drives and two penalties made it 20 yards to go.

The one 3rd and 5 should have been an offside call but then Stafford skied it to Calvin.

Riddick ran on the first drive 3rd down.

The 3 and out before the great TD drive was very bad though.

Sacks aren't staffords fault. ...duh. just cause his decision was to out run a de with his 5.6 forty speed instead of flipping the ball to reggie bush.

And another sack was on 2nd down that killed the drive too making it 3rd and long. And again the two penalties on offense. The Riddick run before the first FG. Plenty more to blame than Stafford for the 5 drives that completley failed and the three FG drives (one block).

The other two sacks which were drive killers weren't Staffords fault. That sack, we faked the punt and kept it moving. And then Riddick ran on 3rd down and got stuff, so we kicked a FG.

Wasn't the second down sack when instead of stepping up in the pocket he tried to go outside and went right into the arms of another defender?

There was a blitz sack and Wake got one. Both were from a good amount of pressure. Both not on him.

Why did we run on 3rd and 6?
