LOLOllolololol :D I don't know whats funnier....lkp suggesting houston was going to have a bounce back year and return to his 2012 glory. Or mayhew being the dubass he is and resigning a guy just so he can release him a year later and lose millions of dollars. Nice job mayhew!

I was not proven wrong. Houston never recovred from injury. Tough loss.

But thankfully I like Slay and Mathis too. And the new scheme.

Mkay. As long as you like em, douche.

You mentioned many times he was going to bounce back from injury and return back to 2011/12 form.

He did not bounce back fro injury, therefore you were incorrect.

Even healthy, besides one good year, he's done nothing in his career. His stats are bad. Good decision by the Lions.

I guess it really doesn't make us worse? Free's up more playing time for youngsters...whether they do anything is a different question

I'm all for giving Greenwood a try to see what he can do but there's a part that frightens me. That Slay, Mathis, Green and Greenwood are now our top guys..Granted Houston sucked and I'm glad he's gone but I wish we wouldn't have taken a CB at 10 and secondary help in round two as well..

2 years ago yes. Last year he was the 96th rated CB. What changed? KC switched to a press-man coverage, instead of zone.

Lions? Press-man converage

anyone else wondering if LKP has drowned himself in jim beam following the big news of his all time favorite cb?

My guess is southern comfort, probably vomiting and crying while watching Chris Houston youtube videos about now.

Nah, LKP is a homer.. which means as long as Houston is a Lion, he deserves to be Pro-Bowl, one of the best in the game, nothing wrong but injuries and luck....

But once he's cut, he wasn't all THAT good anyway, tough luck, injuries happen, won't really miss him, good move by the Lions, young guys are ready, saves money, etc...

When someone if drinking the Kool-Aid, it doesn't really matter if it's cherry, grape, or orange flavored... they keep right on drinking it and telling everyone around them it's their favorite flavor.

Not only won't he drink himself into a stupor... but come tomorrow morning he will be telling his very bored wife how this is what he's been saying all along, and how it's best for the team... and she will not care at all.

i think houston was underrated when healthy. my problem with him is that he could never stay healthy. i don't think he was a probowler by any means but better then some suggest

jim Caldwell and mayhew obviously disagree with you....

Injuries and saves money both in 2014 and 2015. Understand the move if they don't think he can get healthy.

Short term I don't like it personnel wise though if Houston is able to play next year. I like Slay and Mathis but everything riding on them now.

At least I don't have to defend Houston anymore. Thanks for 2010-2012 Houston. Hope you get healthy this year.

I never shared your enthusiasm for his abilities.....but Houston's tenure with the Lions should be viewed as a massive success.

Guy was traded for a 6th rounder and a swap of 5ths. He played at a pretty high level until the injuries took their toll last year. Every GM in football would have made that move if they would have known how good Houston would be for the next three years.

However, after last year.......it can understand the move. Honestly....I'm pretty excited to see what Nevins/Greenwood/Green can do.
