I found the error: Sort Order

DT 2-4, MLB,SAM and nickel were all upgraded.
OLBS,DEs and secondary in year 2 of the system.

Ngata is a better run defender than Suh and a good pass rusher still.

These are not ifs.
11-5 and a top 5 defense in 2014. I called 2014. And I'll call 2015. I have never failed.

12-4 with a top 5 offense and top 5 defense. Stafford 100 QB rating.

Top 5 PPG is not far fetched for the offense that is loaded with talent.
Stafford is good and has led a top 5 offense before and played well enough in 2013 and 2014 for a top 5 offense. Calvin and Tate are elite and healthy
We upgraded protection (with draft and health) and run game big time this offseason
Year 2 of the system, plus Lombardi can learn from mistakes
Moore can be solid
Ebron is talented and in year 2.

Everything points to top 5.

update after 3 games

25th ranked offense
27th ranked defense
Stafford QB rating of 78.7

well at least Denver was kind enough not to blow them out last night. only reason I can think of that Manning didn't hit the crossing route all night was that he wanted to challenge himself, like the much bigger guy in a fight willing to fight with one hand behind his back just to see if he can still win when under a self imposed restriction.

Manning's arm is pretty much shot but he still had enough in the tank to beat the Lions.

all the more reason why he should have been hitting those easy crossing routes the D continues to give up. they ran those a couple of plays, and had success, but that was it. only reason I can think is Manning wanted to challenge himself, or their OC is almost as bad as Lombardi.

no kidding...but at least he is willing to change. The first two games he had Manning under center and he sucked. At least they compromised and used the pistol formation. Manning has been in the shotgun for most of his career. It's what he knows and what he is good at. Why would you try and change it now?

Same goes with Stafford. Why change him too? It's dumb...

"Smartest guy in the room" syndrome

I suspect that a lot of coaching failures in the NFL are the result of this.

They probably thought if they went with a more conservative offense he wouldn't turn the ball over as much. Apparently that isn't the case. If he is going to have 15-20 INTs a year regardless...might as well air it out!

Last year he cut his turnovers down. This year, not so much. Its gotta be a comfort level with him

After 4 games:

There are 9 QBs that LITERALLY are better on their worse day than Stafford is on his best day.

Ya and the scheme has a ton to do with it. I know Stafford is having a shit year, probably his worst ever, but you don't turn into one of the worst QBs in the league overnight. The scheme HAS TO change. Lombardi needs to go. Look at Calvin and Tates numbers. They're abysmal. Tate doesn't even see the ball and Calvin had one good game. Running game is non-existent, OL is decimated. It's not all on the QB...

The oline isn't decimated, they are missing one guy.

Nope it's just completely shitty.

What we need is a couple of first round O-Linemen and a couple of third round O-Linemen... those early picks are the key to it.

...

.... .....

Oh wait

The oline isn't decimated, they are missing one guy.

Decimated might be too strong a word. There's no consistency...too much shuffling going on....it's a gongshow going on right now.
