I have been a Buckeye for a long time

He was getting on in age a bit, I hope he's not sick or unable to post or just lost with the robust board changes and all. It doesn't look like he's posting anywhere on ESPN boards from casually glancing over the weeks

well, I hope he's okay, and just decided to stop posting for other reasons.

maybe he decided to give up the charade and post full-time on Bucknuts.com or whatever boards they have?

that being said, after the way he developed into a cranky old buckeye fan, and defender-of-corruption, I don't really miss him or his posts.

Well, the other board I alluded to is mostly UOS fans, so, had he been a Buck fan, I would think he would have found a home there, but he never settled in.

Nope, you were always harder on him than me. I was always nice to the poor, misguided fool.

LOL

Yes, CB and Hungry bonded over their love of small dogs. They got along famously

the title of this thread should be:

"I have been a bad person for a long time"

Well, I guess then the real question is if Meyer wants the job. I don't think he will want it.

Some of us 'knew' that Luke was just a placeholder at the beginning of the season. Now its just coming to fruition.

Yeah, I had this conversation with BBB on the other board (welcome over by the way), and said from the start I thought Fickell was in for one year, then Meyer, after a year to "heal up" and "spend time with his family" would be brought in.

One issue I hadn't expected was more dirt to surface like this past week. I think Meyer would have taken it had nothing new arisen, but now who knows what else is in the closet?

Yeah, but Meyer does have an ego and this is his chance to be the Noble Knight on the White Horse. He has the rare chance that every head coach wants - to go back to his roots and become a coaching legend, to be in the same company as Woody, Bo, Bear Bryant, JoPa. I think that challenge appeals to him. He gets to come in and clean up the mess that Tress left behind. He get to restore an all-time great program to its former glory. I think it's very similar to Brady Hoke after RichRod, without the major NCAA violations, of course. But a year or so ago, your own program was in the same kind of chaos - lack of direction - that ours is in now. That's pretty appealing to any HC's ego, IF he can right the ship.

Sure, I get that. To summorize my previous post, over the summer I thought he was a lock, now I think the odds have dropped because of the new revelation. Depending on if anything else comes up before the end of the season, he may still want it.

Yeah, the new stuff may convince him to wait until we find out what the sanctions will be. I couldn't blame him or anyone else interested in the job for that.

the buckeyes that still think Meyer is going to come to Columbus need to think about WHY he left Florida, and everything he's said and done since then.

the pendulum has swung back... all those tainted wins the ohio jackasses rubbed in our face are coming back on them with a vengeance.

I wonder if they feel it was worth it?

Great question, but I'm sure the answer is "Yes, it was worth it to beat Michigan's ass for so long."

It'll only be if they're in the dumpster for something like 5-7 years as a result of all this that that feeling might change, IMO.

The equivalent for us is the Fab 5. Were those two amazing, magical years worth it? If you had asked me as late as 2003 (10 years after) I would have definately said yes - it was amazing to watch. It wasn't until Michigan basketball STILL sucked in 2007 2008, etc. that it seemed to have not been worth it. YMMV.
