Get StartedI know wealthy people in line for a big inheritance or own a company and they talk about all the leeches and takers.
I know a guy like that. He inherited a few million from the father he hated, hasn't worked a day in his life, and constantly bitches about people on public assistance.

Arizona is a pretty red state; typically Democratic nominees will be pretty moderate.
Same way that Chris Christie and Mitt Romney were able to be elected as Republicans in blue states.
Meanwhile -
The Republicans could gain the majority in the in the U.S. Senate...and at the same time, Mitch McConnell could lose his own election.
That would be pretty ironic.
that's what I hear from just about everyone who shares their political views. I know wealthy people in line for a big inheritance or own a company and they talk about all the leeches and takers. the lower income people I know from where I grew up all talk about the 1%.
I'm in the small minority that votes against my own economic interests. I'm paying more under Obama but I'm ok with it, although I do lawyer my way down to 22% usually
Reminds me of a saying ...."No atheists in a foxhole"
It's noble to be able to afford the luxury of voting against your interests until you can't afford that nobility. I grew up very working class and have been working myself since age 12.
I choose to donate directly to charity to offset the tax burden I am so blessed to be paying these days.
My motivation to donate directly to selected charities is definitely partially driven by the fact that at least I get to choose where a significant portion of my net earnings are put to use.

As a productive individual, Sbee, which I'm certain you are, there will come a time when it dawns on you that voting against your economic self-interest accomplishes zilch. We do no favors when we enable the nanny state.

coney Island hotdog restaurant, or the real Coney Island?I decide how i should vote by asking myself the questions
"what's best for a single mother working at coney island who wants a better life for her child"
of course there aren't atheists in a foxhole, you're not thinking rationally when your life is in danger. you're sure as hell hoping there is something beyond your existence on earth so you buy into the fairy tale that you'll end up in some green pasture, young and healthy, and all of your deceased relatives will be there to greet you.
