I like conference tournaments

Emu down 31-28 at half . Rockets are 7/12 from three . Eagles are 4 for 10 from three. ... Winner plays #1 seed Buffalo.

Dammit emu losses in heartbreaking fashion 64-63 on a three pointer with 9 seconds left. they had a shot to win but missed. EMU was up 61-56 with 1:49 left. I was watching the ticker and did not see any of the game .

Yeah I was watching the end of the game with the audio off on my hand held while my wife and I watched DVRs of our shows.

Toledo drained a couple of pretty well guarded threes at the end.

The refs watched the drive to the basket of the EMU point guard and the one or two tip in attempts endlessly on replay before declaring the game over.

Crap.

The Ivy Tournament is always a big, big thing for me.

I wish they?d go back to the regular season winner getting the bid, I think this is only their 2nd year of doing a conference tournament. They won?t go back though, not when you can draw interest, get exposure on national television, bring in ticket sales, etc.

Texas southern started season 0-13 and have now won 7 in a row . So at one point they were 8-19 lol.

At least 18-12 Harvard and 23-8 Penn are meet in the final of the league tournament. Teams split in the regular season, and both were 12-2 .

Dan Majerle is coaching Grand Canyon and down 7 verses New Mexico st for a ncaa bid. What a great crowd. Both teams fans are loud.

Oh.

This a little embarrassing.

I don't give a fuck about the Ivy League tournament - who does?

I don't give a fuck about the Ivy League auto-bid - who does?

I was making a joke.

I guess Ivy League schools might be pretty competitive in rowing, and stuff-but who gives a fuck?

Not me.

As far as national television exposure, I have only seen one advertisement on television ever promoting an Ivy League sports event:

I figured you were joking. I?m just a sicko and semi pay attention to these stupid things. In the end do I truly care? No, but I always have felt conference tourneys are pretty pointless and screw the best teams in small conferences out of the NCAA tournament.

It will be interesting to see what the committee does with Nevada and MTSU. I am not sure either has a resume worthy of an at-large when looking at it, even though both have spent time in the Top 25. And I'm a person who generally likes to see the mid majors get the nod there over big conference also-rans.

And along those lines I'm baffled that Oklahoma is considered by most to still be a lock. They've lost 11 of their last 15. I don't think we should be discounting things that happened in November and December, but I"m not sure about equal weighting either, especially when it's become clear that some teams have progressed while others have regressed. Their resume wasn't THAT great early in the season. I have a feeling a lot of those Big 12 teams are going to flame out early.

Same goes for Arizona State. I know they beat Xavier and Kansas early. But they had a losing record in the Pac 12 of all things. I think that is what they are now more than the team that notched those wins early on.

Call me crazy but unless guys like Lunardi/Palm etc have some serious ins with the committee members I have a feeling they are going to be pretty inaccurate with their bubble teams. I will be stunned and irate if Oklahoma still gets in, they have been in an absolute freefall as you pointed out. I think MTSU is much more deserving of a bid, not sure about Nevada without delving into their resum?. Also agree on the Big 12 being overrated, I?ve seen some projections with 7 teams getting in out of 10 in the conference, that?s ridiculous. To me it should almost be a requirement that you go .500 in conference play to make the tournament, that would knock out several bubble teams like Oklahoma, OK State, Baylor, Alabama, ND, ASU, etc.

I agree with Matt . How the hell can Oklahoma be considered a lock when they have lost not once but twice to Oklahoma st? ASU, ND, Louisville Syracuse , Oklahoma can all go to the Nit. That is what they all deserve. All we see is Palm, and Lunardi and others talking non-stop about ND, and Oklahoma, and others. It makes me sick to listen to these clowns and yet you guys may be right about his in with the committee.

Yup . Why sould a 19-15 Alabama or 20-14 ND get in over Nevada or MTSU, or St Marys. Or worse yet Oklahoma and ASU who lost boat load Of Games down the strech. Don't worry Tom. The little guys will get screwed at 6pm.

BTW I heard that tbs is changing the way they announce the teams .I heard that in the first 10 minutes they will give all the teams and then show the sites and times.

these small conferences shouldn't have a tournament at the end of the season. A lot of the time it just hurts the best team in the conference if they get upset in the conference tournament.
