If the Lions rebound and make the playoffs, should Schwartz still be fired?

Like I said....he should have made the catch but it was a bad pass as well. The guy was wide open and it was a poorly thrown ball. Some drops are 100% on the WR and some are assisted by the QB. The second was assisted by Stafford's inaccurate throw.

That was a good throw. it hit him in the fn numbers. so what if he had to stop a bit in his route?

If his numbers are below his waist, then your statement is accurate. Also, it's called hitting your receiver in stride, that way he can get yards after the catch. If he has to stop, that probably doesn't happen.

in stride? so every ball needs to be leading the WR now? lol...ok. The ball hit him in the stomach/chest area. It was a terrible drop and Calvin even acknowledged he fucked up.

No, not every ball has to lead the WR. But it SHOULD if there's open space in front of the WR. And in case you didn't see the picture of the play earlier in the thread to prove it was at his waist or lower, here it is.

Staff certainly put the ball out in front of the WR today on that pick 6! He has been terrible over the past 6 games!

If it was baseball it would have been ruled a passed ball on the catcher since he got his hands on it. To me the problem Stafford has is his inability to apply proper touch on his passes. A slightly softer pass there, take maybe 5mph off that throw, improves receivers chance of catching it. He rifles the ball with max velocity to wide open guys, its no wonder Lions have so many drops.

I dont need to see the picture. I watched this in petson and even seen a better angle on the NFL Network. The ball was thrown perfectly, CJ dropped it...no excuses

Stafford's biggest issue is that he takes too many chances. I blame a lot of this on the coaching, from play calling to working with him on his foot-work. Yes, both are preparation issue's. I do not here anyone talking about his lousy foot-work. Just watch a game and compare him to Bree's, Manning, or Brady and it is very obvious. Throwing off back foot, shuffling his feet in the pocket, and the most telling is the spot where his foot ends up asfter the release of the ball... horrible.

I can't believe management hasn't already fired that putz. I would fire his ass the minute he walked through the door this morning.

I initially thought that too, but who would coach next week? And really, what would that accomplish now, since the season is effectively over? The staff should all be fired on black Mon next week anyways, so let the current staff screw up one last game, and improve the draft position, while also sealing their fate with the final nail.

who cares who coaches next week? It would accomplish appeasing your fan base.....something real organizations actually take into consideration quite often. Lions fans are very loyal....even after being shit on the last 20+ years. They don't deserve watching Shorts coach another game.
