If the Lions rebound and make the playoffs, should Schwartz still be fired?

WOW...a player not calling out the current coaching staff! Shocker!!! The players discipline IS a reflection of how they are prepared and coached.

Nope. Well prepared per the players. This is Suh, Bush (who has been other places) and called Schwarz a discipinarian. Mathis and Tulloch. All vets and leaders.

And a coach needs to get in their face. If you insist it's the players then we need new players.

How do you know they don't in the film room? Oh that's right you don't. Screaming on the sidelines won't fix this.

He is saying the truth. Players aren't executing and losing focus just a little bit each game across the board.

Schemes are good, players are behind them. Replacing the coach doesn't fix this. And the players are too talented to replace. The players just need better focus for a handful more plays.

They're so talented that I'm hearing players aren't executing and losing focus.

And I do insist it's the players. Very talented players that are just losing focus for a handful of plays. You don't replace eihter in this case.

Early in the season close game at the time and we stopped the other team, step late Delmas stats getting in the guys face - 15 yarder. Do something in field instead of film room.

Every year. One playoff win in almost 60 years. Where is the accountability?

Losing focus doesn't mean you are not talented. And it's not one player. One play a game from each player can cost you 7 games. Even a punter or an Olinemen on a FG block or your 4th string WR playing alot and throwing a ball back in bounds or your star WR dropping a ball into a trailing safeties hands or your run defense for 5 giant longer runs in the snow or your backup safety and nickel CB getting beat on a 97 yard drive.

Talking 2013 and Mayhew era starting 2010. Millen era there was no talent plus 2009. 90s some talent but no QB talent. 80s and prior you tell me, I didn't watch that.

And if it was happening in the film room then it should be stopping unless are players are brain dead.

LOL yelling doesn't make it stop. I CAN YELL AT YOU BUT YOU WON'T STOP BLAMING STAFFORD FOR TIPPED BALLS ON A QUICK SLANT PASS.

So for 60 years it's because of no talent? Every year. Now we apparently have it yet still no wins.

you are an idiot if you think ANY player is going to blame their coach or NOT call them a disciplinarian when asked. What do you think they are going to say...the truth?

Reporter: "Reggie, this team has been a hot mess over the past 5 weeks. It seems like there have been a lot of stupid penalties, poor execution and too many turnovers. Do you think it is coaching?"

Reggie Bush: "Last year in New Orleans we lost our great head coach. In 2011 we went 13-3. Then in 2012 we lost our head coach and went 7-9. This year they are 10-4 after they got their coach back. I do think coaching has a lot to do with the success and execution of the players. Players make the plays but the coaching staff needs to get the entire team to work together as one unit. Look at the other great coaches in the NFL...they always get the best out of their players. Coaching does matter."

I didn't realize I was yelling. You know why? Because I wasn't..you know message board and all.

I was yelling. It didn't stop you from being undsiciplined in your posting.

Your suggestion of yelling to fix the problem is funny.

How do you know I was undisciplined? In the film room the wife said I was awesome..

You wanted Stafford to double pump a slant and move around more on all plays (leading to holding on to the ball longer). Lack of focus by you. I blame your internet provider for this.

Asked if it was a coaching problem, Tulloch said, ?No. We are very prepared every week. We just have to zone in and we can?t get lackadaisical.?

Im prepared too. Im prepared they are going to turn the ball over a bunch of times, not force any turnovers, offense will tease me with a couple good drives then suck the rest of the game, akers will miss an important kick, defense will break as soon as were about to take control of the game. Im prepared for all of this every time I watch a lions game.

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- For all the questions and wondering about the status of Jim Schwartz as the coach of the Detroit Lions, there is a new factor to consider in the "will-he-be-fired-or-not?" discussion.

SchwartzLas Vegas.

Bovada has now officially placed odds on whether or not Schwartz will be the head coach of the Lions for the first game of the 2014 season. A "Yes" bet is currently at +200 (or 2/1 odds). A "No" bet is at -300, or 1/3 odds.

So Vegas seems to be leaning on the side of Schwartz being let go in Detroit as well.

The other coaches that Vegas has bets on are Dennis Allen in Oakland, Jason Garrett in Dallas and Mike Shanahan and Kyle Shanahan in Washington.

Bovada also has the Lions at 66/1 odds to win this season's Super Bowl

A couple drives. 26 PPG. That should work.

its a what have you done for me lately league. we lost 4 of 5. the ST outscored the offense in the philly game. We had 7 points midway thru the 3rd last week. The offense has't had more than a couple good drives a game for the last bunch of games minus the GB game.
