Iglasias fight

I linked them for two reasons: 1) to demonstrate to you that the relationship with and influence of Francona extended well beyond ten games in 2011, and 2) because they seem to reference the need to manage Iggy's attitude, for him to tone down the hot dogging in the field, his need to learn how to fit in, and his tendency to seek out established vets for advice and mentoring... all of which directly support things discussed in this thread.

Sorry. But you are inferring more than what I do from all of those articles.

and his tendency to seek out established vets for advice and mentoring.

Early in Spring Training, Iglesias did seek out Kaline to help him with his swing and how to improve his batting. He said in so many words, Why not ask a hof player what he needed to do to improve.

Yeah those silly stats - lets not let them get in the way :hehe:

No point in using stats, if you can excuse them for the sake of winning your argument. Its like arguing that a little guy who walks a lot shouldn't get as much credit because his strike zone is smaller. I gave statistics showing that Iggy is middle of the pack in defensive ratings this season.. and you guys were like, oh, yeah, well he has range so he gets to balls.. Okay.. explain how many more balls he gets to than Shortstops with normal range.

7 of Iglesias' errors are on throws.

There are 17 MLB SS with at least 850 Innings at SS.

Iglesias

3rd in making impossible plays with 9 (both guys ahead of him (10) have more than 80 innings on him)

4th in UZR/150

4th in DEF

t6th with the fewest fielding errors

I'll quote this for you again, Thumb. I was never arguing that there was an issue between Iglesias and Pedroia. I responded to the assertions that there was no evidence of Iglesias having attitude issues prior to coming here.

Of which I never disputed.

So all this time you have been proving a point I was never arguing about.

Oranges.

That is just dumb. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
