Guys...seriously...you cannot legitimately expect a 10+ win season this year. Acknowledge the historical fact, it will make this year easier on your nerves, give the Lions better Draft position, and 2016 they will be able to win 10+ again...just prepare now that if they do win 10+ in 2016 then 2017 will be another 9 max win scenario.

It is what it is. These players and coaches are not good enough to overcome historical fact and precedent, call it a curse, or whatever...they will not win 10 games this year.

That may be true......but I fail to see what history has to do with the 2015 team.

History has everything to do with it history proves time and time again it's never going to happen with this clown car franchise

From watching MNF 2.0, this Minnesota team is not good and certainly beatable.

So Joey Harrington, Az Hakim, Scotty Anderson, Van Malone and Robert Massey are affecting the outcome of this years games?

Nope just the years of history of always finding away to let you down in the end does that all by itself. I keep thinking someday maybe they'll finally get a coaching staff that isn't full of guys that want to get all protect the lead conservative all the time and know that there is nothing to lose here in Detroit.. Still waiting...and waiting...and waiting..never comes..

The fords just never hire the right mindsets to lead this franchise out of the shit house, talent will get you good teams every now again but not having that go for the kill mindset over protect the lead never gets it to the promise land

So to summarize your statement......history has nothing to do with the W's and L's of this years team.......just your current feelings about the Lions. Is that correct?

If you think we ever drafted az hakim... i want some of what you're smoking... def got him as a fa from st louis...

this years team looks a lot like teams of years past, find ways to lose, coaches and coordinators that don't make in game adjustments play not to lose when you have a lead instead of going for the kill shots..you think someday they'll ever get it?

They couldn't win 10 in consecutive years with Barry. They never even did it when winning championships (granted there were fewer games then).

Now we have better talent on paper, but the coaches are screwing things up for the Lions while opponents have found the weakness in the defense. Pass to either the guy Mathis is covering or Tully, and if both of them are actually covered (thats funny right there) then the dump pass to the RB will suffice. Don't bother going for kill shots, just get first downs, control the ball and clock, score. It is absolutely that simple, and you don't need to have above average talent to execute that plan against this D.

So, once again fans will experience a season below 10 wins this year, based on historical evidence combined with how exploited and vulnerable this team has already proven to be after the first game. Accept this and this season won't leave such a bad taste in your mouth when they lose.

Tulloch and Mathis will play much better. Levy will be back. Stop overreacting.

Caldwell said he's unsure if Slay will play Sunday in today's press conference, but hey, let's argue about a shot lb and a very old cb

Such terrible bad luck if he's out an extended amount of time.

DTs had 1 hit and 12 hurries combined in Week 1. Suh who? But we get screwed with Levy out and now Slay hurt.

Replacing Suh check. But then you lose Levy and Slay. Total bullshit.

I hate injuries to top players so much.

Agreed, these two guys out completely changes the defense. Those 2 are the face of our defense, imo

bad luck? It happens to every team...a good team can overcome this type of shit.

lions will overcome and did in 2014. Levy and slay is more important injuries than any other defense in the league

Wouldn't mind Lang and Bulaga missing some games too
