LOL no they were not outcoached.

What adjustements should have been made? Elaborate thoroughly. Give me some schemes and play calls. Compare what the Lions called (give me the exact name of the play and what the play does) and what they should have called on defensse.

I'll wait.

Ready? This is going to be really tough.

At about catch 11, the coaches should have realized that Keenan Allen needs to be shut down. So, whatever types of coverage you need to throw at him, double, and maybe even triple team him on occasion, and let one of the other guys make plays. The crossing routes were there ALL day. You are meaning to tell me that NO ONE on the sideline saw that?? No, the coaches are too damn stubborn and didn't make any corrections.

They went on a 30-0 run. I'll say that again for you. 30-0. The Chargers figured out how to slow the Lions down and what to run on offense. The Lions were unwilling to match that, and got run down.

Are you fkn retarded? Give you the call? How the fuck am i supposed to do that, you moron?

Lions were getting to Rivers in the 1st half. 2nd half they were not. SD eliminated the passrush with quick routes and quick releases from Rivers and his WRs.

SD started to blitz more in the 2nd half crom what I saw. Lions did nothing to counter their attack. How many times did a DE/LB come up free and destroy Stafford in the 2nd half? That's inexscusable.

Lions did the same thing ALL game on both sides of the ball. They actually stuck with what WASN'T working where the Chargers were making adjustments all game lol. The announcers must have mentioned it a 100x over. Even the media is all over the coaching staff this week for their lack of adjustments made. Get your fkn head out of your ass....

Triple team a short crossing route. LOL LOL LOL.

The players were in position to stop him. They were just missing too many tackles.

Lions were in position.!!!!Chargers did adjust. Lions didn't need to. They needed to make tackles.

Chargers weren't blitzing. only blitzed Stafford 6 times all game. They faked the blitz and Lions changed the protection. The Lions shouldn't have adjusted in that case of the sack and first int.

And that's all ego to me. Austin obviously thought what he was calling "will work". It didn't and he needs to realize that. Very rare that you're going to see a vet like Mathis either take himself out of the game or even ask for a lesser assignment. Austin needed to see that "his" scheme wasn't working and switch it the fuck up. He didn't and we burned. Pure ignorance on his part....

You don't even need to double/triple team it. How about manning him up with another player since Mathis was getting torched? Sit someone in the underneath zone where Mathis lived in most of the game. Something!!! Anything!!! He did nothing...

The Lions did miss a lot of tackles, but the Keenan Allen show wasn't addressed. No way on Earth should Mathis be on a #1 guy at this point in his career. Slay should have been on him from jump. You gonna argue that?

And how many times did the Chargers blitz in the second half? Seemed like they were getting to Staff more...

I gotta say, this is the strangest thread I've ever seen in the history of DSF. Tony and LKP are arguing???

Did the Earth's magnetic poles just flip or something??????

The Lions play Slay like the Seahawks do Sherman. He takes a side of the field. They moved Allen around. It happens all the time in this league.

Wilson was in the slot. Lawson inactive. You are not benching Mathis for Wilson and moving Diggs in the slot. No way. Mathis plays, he's good in coverage (typically), he had a bad day.

Mathis is a good CB still. Everyone is overreacting from one game.

Maybe if Carter was healthy do you think about it. But he's not. And it's not like Mathis was burnt in the first half. It was mainly the 3rd Quarter. Mathis gave up 7 catches for 85 yards to Allen. We gave up 400 yards. It was missed tackles, Tulloch giving up 90 yards and a little bit of everyone else. The long Mathis gave up was 20 yards. Not a total torching, step too slow

So we should have no corn over him lining up against Wallace this weekend? Teddy is an ace on short shit, so I expect a similar result this weekend. Mathis is going to get his ass kicked this weekend if they expect him to cover that speedster all day. He creates space, and quickly. I'm worried about this

And a step too slow at the age of 35 is doom for a defensive player.

Best quotable post in this thread..

"I usually don't respond to you much because you're insane.."

Lol.

Yeah. Giving up 30 straight points shouldn't happen to the 31st ranked defense, let alone the Lions. At some point a change needs to be made or something. The Chargers completely adjusted to the Leos in the 2nd half, and the opposite happened with Detroit.

Don't we say that a handful of times a year?

Feed abdullah
Get cj involved or scheme away from him if he demands doubles/triples
Cover allen
Take Tulloch off the fucking field

....any of those would have drastically changed the outlook of the game.

The fact that AA had 7 carries, and Calvin had four targets is just disgraceful.
