injuries

Definition btw: A fluke is a lucky or improbable occurrence, with the implication that the occurrence could not be repeated.

but Slay played most of the game. Levy is really good...not sure he is a top 5 LB but even if he is...a lot of teams lose a great player and overcome it....especially if they know he will be gone prior to the game. I think most of that is probably on the coaching staff.

I'm not making excuses for the loss. All I'm pointing out is that if you lose your #1 CB and #1 LB on the team, you're going to struggle. No matter what!! We lost BOTH. Add our best Guard too and we're in trouble

That's not much to over come. Especially with a 21-3 lead. Stop a 3rd and 21 and dont throw back to back picks and POOF!...you win.

Pretty easy actually. It's not asking much.

Back to back picks due to same hit. Warford plays that hit doesn't happen. Plus chargers held on that play.

Levy kills Allen on that two yard cross. He would be in hospital

Tony, those were just off the top of my head. Every season, a lot of teams lose players they can't afford to lose. Yeah, losing Levy sucks. But this stuff isn't unique to the Detroit Lions. And that is why guys like Van Noy were drafted, for things like this. But he hasn't proven anything.

I'm not even talking about the San Diego game!! Lol. Just talking "in general". Hard to overcome from those type of losses.....

I understand all that. It doesn't just "suck" though. Levy is a quiet leader on the field and you could see his absence from the game mattered. I'm not even talking about the SD game anyways. Just making an observation. Then if you lose your #1 CB makes it even tougher. Overcoming injuries is part of sports and our LBs and DBs are supposed to be our strengths.

Yeah. Giving up 30 straight points shouldn't happen to the 31st ranked defense, let alone the Lions. At some point a change needs to be made or something. The Chargers completely adjusted to the Leos in the 2nd half, and the opposite happened with Detroit.

We lost 1. The other (Slay) was lost for 4 plays, at the end of the game, after the defense had been destroyed. The LB was lost well before the game. Coaching staff had plenty of time to make adjustments and get the replacement ready. No reason to be that bad.

100%, man. Adjustments are key and our coaches dropped the ball on that one.

Speaking of coaches....I was driving yesterday and caught 97.1 on the radio and I swear that I heard that Lombardi was oblivious to Stafford's apparent arm injury during the game. He didn't even know he was hurt was what I thought I heard. Are you fkn kidding me?! Is this true?! Because if it is, it's going to be a long season lol. Maybe I heard it wrong yesterday but that was my understanding. I certainly hope not....

"His second interception, I think might've been affected by (his injury), just because he was a little bit numb. I wasn't as aware as maybe -- because it was pretty quick we were back on the field, and I didn't realize that his arm was hurting a little bit," Lombardi said. "But it quickly got better and it didn't affect us after that. Probably should've affected that play call, but I wasn't aware that his arm was kind of numb."

Television cameras caught Lombardi and Stafford sitting next to each other on the Lions' sideline after the Ingram hit, but Lions coach Jim Caldwell wouldn't say today whether Stafford alerted coaches about his injury.

Stafford didn't acknowledge the loss of feeling when asked about it today -- "I'm not here to talk about last week. I'll talk to you guys anything you want to know about this coming-up week,"

"Yup," he said, extending his arm. "I can feel it."

Oh ok...thanks, man! I obviously only heard a portion of that. Phewwww! At least he knew he was dinged up lol

LOL lack of adjustments. You guys crack me up.

You guys wouldn't even know what adjustments to make if Lombardi and Austin told you

Stop with the generic crap in the blame game.

Mathis, Tulloch, Ihedigbo didn't cover well. Missed tackles too. Not lack of adjustments. It's not a talent issue either. They have the talent to cover. They just didn't execute on Sunday.

From what I caught on the radio about that segment, Golden Tate apparently knew that Stafford couldn't feel anything on his hand. So in my opinion, it's hard to figure out how to blame. If they kept their mouth shut and didn't tell the coaches, or they did but told Stafford to stay in.

Depending on the position, players can play beyond a numb hand. Quarterback isn't one of them.

"LOL at blaming lack of adjustments."
"They just didn't execute on Sunday."

Hmmmmm... One of these statements is not like the other.

You might be the ONLY person to think a 30-0 swing is strictly pinned on players missing tackles.

You don't even know what adjustments needed to made. Until you figure that out, you can't blame lack of adjustments.

Clearly Mathis and Tulloch and Ihedgibo were a step slow. And missed tackles can certainly extend drives. Three TD drives allowed in the second half (one on a short field after an int). Those drives were extended by missed tackles. We had 12 missed tackles on the day. 3 by Ihedigbo, 3 Tulloch and 2 Mathis

I usually don't respond to you much because you're insane, but one question for ya....

The whole world (except you) knows that the Lions were outcoached, hence "lack of adjustments". You're just chalking this up as a couple of players had bad games? Correct?
