Is CJ the best ever?

The Moss and CJ comparisons are appropriate. Moss was definitely faster and I believe he had better hands and slightly better body control. Johnson is way bigger, can jump higher, and is much stronger. CJ is by most accounts a better teammate and never a locker room cancer. Moss had a better first 6 years than CJ.

Randy Moss
6-4, 210lbs
4.25 forty
36" vertical

Calvin Johnson
6-5, 238 lbs
4.33 forty
44" vertical

Really very comparable stats through their 1st 91 games although Moss had a lot more TDs.

I always thought Randy Moss in his prime was better than Jerry Rice in his prime, but that Rice obviously had a better overall career. I think Calvin Johnson is in his prime and is better now than Rice ever was at any time in his career. Prime vs Prime, Moss vs Johnson is a tossup IMO. Rice obviously stayed great for a very long time, that's why is career records will never be touched.

If Detroit has a good QB for a long time, Staff or someone else I could see CJ catching Rice's yards total. He'll have to play along time though. TD totals are probably out of the question.

What if CJ got to 2000 yards, would he be an MVP canidate? 4-5 wins wouldn't help but if Detroit was better would you give the MVP to WR over AP for example or QB.

Peyton Manning is the MVP.....the media loves to slurp those salty nuts.

When Barry went 2053 he shared the award. Same thing could happen here. Though I still say CJ should be in the conversation if he gets 2k. Something no one has ever done.

Maybe you haven't watched the Lions lose 4 games in the last two minutes or the other close games we had in the last moments.

I'm wondering if you or Gruden knows what Garbage time is. In fact I bet AP had more garbage time than CJ.

was being sarcastic referring to the gruden comments lol.

we're the Lions not either winning by 10 or less or losing by 10 or less going into the 4th quarter of 11 outta the 15 they have played so far ?

if so is that not considered "close" by Gruden standards ?

Gruden is a clown.

He was slobbing all over Jones and White and was discrediting CJ the whole game.

But I guarantee you though that Rice didn't get the same amount of double and triple teams in his career. So there is advantages in both era's.

In case you haven't figured it out it means 122 catches for Rice that year and CJ broke it and only has 117. And when he broke it, even less than that.
