Is Stafford a top 5 QB?

I still remember the Aaron Curry debates, fun times

Oh brother do i!!! Who else were people yipping about?

Jason Smith was also a favorite over Staff. We clearly made the right choice. Curry has played better in Oak but was lost in Seattle and Smith has struggled at RT and the Rams OL has been a mess all year.

Stafford showed that he can be just as accurate as any QB in the league when he's on. That was about as good as you can play QB in this league, he was throwing lasers. Not only were the passes right in the hands with a tight spiral, they were on time all game. His O line gave him plenty of time and he showed you what he could do with it. Wow! You can still argue about Top 5, but you cannot argue about top 5 talent. QBs get hot, but there are only 4 other QBs I've seen in today's NFL that can look like that, Brees, Rodgers, Manning, and Brady.

I think Stafford's still growing, he'll likely have some hiccups, but he's real close to joining those other 4 I mentioned as the cream of the crop in the NFL. I'm not sure I would trade Stafford for any player in the league right now save for Aaron Rodgers. He's only 23 and is already right on the heels of the elite 4 QBs in the NFL. That was a thing of beauty yesterday, I had to rub my eyes, that's the 1st time I've seen that level of play from a Lions QB.

The thing I like is we really needed him to raise his game the last 2 weeks to make the playoff run and he has done that. Every team we play knows we are gonna throw it all over the field and we still succeed. Many times yesterday Staff had all day to throw and with the talent we have and his confidence its only a matter of time before he made a huge completion.

We seemed to have quite a few third and longs, but after Stafford completed a couple of them, I really wasn't worried about it because they were coming so easy.

Yeah, Staffords performance vs the Chargers almost looked effortless, the Oline is really stepping it up. When Stafford gets good protection, he can be a surgeon out there. Ive never been more happy to be a Lions fan

They did against a Top 10 (#6) defense too.
