Raw numbers in passing has so many variables....your running game is just one of them. A soild run game SHOULD bring more guys into the box so atleast you should see your completion % increase if you have an accurate QB. High completion % should equate to more catches and more yards...see Brees and his 72% completion % which is ridiculous. When youre throwing 72% all of your numebrs are going to be up lol. In elis case im guessing hes having a good numbers year cause hes throwing more often due to his lack of running game. If youre statement is a good running game automatically makes your passing game better....well id say thats totally false. See denver or Minne.

Jesus...this is a pointless argument. Is he top 5 if you add in the career achievements? No. He's only played this year. Is he top 5 if you take just this year? Depends on what you look for in a QB. I personally think he is having a great season and is in the top 6 this year. But some people look for different things in QB's and as such, Stafford wont be there. For example, someone may add in the clutch gene to the equation, which would eliminate QB's that falter late in games. Others will look at the statistics and make their opinions based solely on the numbers.

Let's not diminish what stafford has accomplished this year. He has been a godsend for us and it appears we will have a good QB for years to come after decades of futility at the position.

Honestly, what kind of numbers did you guys think Stafford would put up this year? I was thinking 3000 yards, low to mid 20s in tds, and mid to high teens in INTS. He has been amazing, and his accuracy is much better than what I thought it would ever be. When he came into the league, I remember hearing that his idle was Brett Favre, and that he labeled himself as a gunslinger type QB. I expected him to be erratic, consistently miss throws, and throw alot of INTS. Glad I was wrong.

He's been awesome, man. Myself and some others argued that pick to death a couple of years ago. He's proven the nay-sayers wrong this year.

As for his numbers? I was thinking around 25-30 TD's and around 15 picks with about 3,800-4,000 yards. He exceeded my expectations by a wide margin. And my predictions were not a knock on him. I just didn't want to go to big and bold on my predictions and thought he would ease his way into those numbers down the road. The sky is the limit with this kid. Get some OL help and a fn running game? FAGHEDABOUDIT!!!
