I just disagree completely.. You want a team without any PR nightmares.. He covered up the whole tattoo gate so his players could play instead of suspending them. The Lions do not need this guy.. Rat tre$$el is a cheater... I want him nowhere near the lions..

Plus his offense is so damn conservative it would make Scott L's offense look like the run and shoot..

I highly doubt he'd be OC, most reliable sources has him as some behind-the-scenes consultant, hardly a position that would even be apparent to the public.

this is professional football. Who cares if Tressel looked the other way in college when his players got free tatoos. If he's a good coach that can turn this team into a winner you hire him. Do you think Patriot fans cancelled their sesason tickets when it was revealed that the great Belichick actually cheated? We aren't talking about not turning in some kids to compliance after they recieved $200 tatoos. We are talking about ACTUAL CHEATING the game of football here. Tressel is 100% guilty of terrible judgement for not turning in those kids. He broke the rules and probably has paid for what he did and then some. I personally feel that he may have said something to the higher ups in the AD but that is another story. Anyway, as far as the coach himself...he had that team (on the field) very discpinled...offensively, defensively and special teams. I think most Lions fans would love to have a discplined team on the field...except Lions fans that can't take their UM blinders off.

Seahawks definitely are regretting bringing along Pete Carrol, the USC cheater. Look, I"m not a Tressel fan and I'm not sure that he'd be a good OC in the NFL, but I'm not going to condemn the guy for protecting his athletes. It's not like he was handing out money and tattoos for the guys.

There are a ton of slimy, disgusting coaches in this league and a lot of them have had success. I also don't think the rest of the sports world views Tressel like you do. Personally, I think the blame was more with the players than the coach, but I'm glad he was fired.

Sorry Bob, I think you're letting your Ohio hate cloud your vision on this one. I don't like him as our OC, but that's because of his limited experience running an NFL offense.
