Justin Henry?

Anyone have good info on this guy? He's 27, yeah I know, but through out his minor league career has a high OBP and doesn't strikeout much.

I don't remember if he made it to spring training. So what's the story? Is he worth anything or am I just wanting anyone in place of DY and Raburn..?

Mitch i was looking at his stats the other day but didn't bother to post anything because the Tiger only gave Eldred 18 at bats... Tiger's would probably call Henry up and only give him 2 games before shipping him out and yet Raburn gets 35 games to bat .130 just so we can wait for him to warm up by mid summer.. Seriously Mitch I just don't understand the tiger leadership sometimes.. Might as well give him two weeks and use Raburn's last option and send him back to the Bull to fix his swing if at all possible.

Back in the day, unless you were a star .135 guys sat on the bench and had to earn being put back in the lineup. Not that we have a whole lot of options on the ML team but that's what the minors are about, trying out new guys..

uh, no. at this point in the season you'd have to replace raburn with someone like Konerko (who is hitting .340 with power) or Robinson Cano (.303 with excellent defense) to even get a 2 game improvement. id like to know how a .200-.250 hitter = 2-4 wins over raburn. Hamilton would be a 4 game improvement.

uh, no. at this point in the season you'd have to replace raburn with JOSH HAMILTON to get even a 2.5 game improvement, or ajax/matt kemp for a 1.5 game improvement (based on fangraphs WAR). id like to know how a .200-.250 hitter = 2-4 wins over raburn.

I was going to bring this up like 5 mins ago...then decided it's not worth the 15 pages of argument.

And yet nobody blames Cabrera whose playing well below his average, and has not hit a HR in going on 3 weeks.

Or Fielder who hasn't hit anything but the bottom of his plate from the buffet.

Or Avila, or Young, or Boesch, or Peralta.

But take away Leyland and Raburn and people seem to think we would magically be up 8-10 games in the division right now. :lmao:

Maybe its just me from Detroit just sticks to their long tenure position players too much. They don't give guys a change. So their ml system isn't full of studs but just maybe they provide a spark and become, I don't know, an Andy Dirks.

So, Dunn gets 200 k's a year and hits home runs, most of the time. Of course he's probably no Dunn but when you have a hitting going .140, you give someone a chance to be better.
