Khalil Mack on the trade blocks

Did u see the pick? Mack was nowhere near ?in the backfield ?.

I thought it was a heads up play by Mack. He realized he wasn't making it to the QB, recognized the screen, stepped back from the defender and made the play.

Yes it was with the backup QB who telegraphed it more, would Rodgers have made that throw? Probably not.
But honestly I don't think "most defenders" are aware enough to make that play.

well, in the 1st 1/2 of the first game, Mack looks like a game changer. Bears D looks great, Mack all over the field including a defensive TD. The rookie Smith has a sack on his first play as a Bear.

Then Mack disappeared in the second half

He sure did. The whole Bears defense looked pretty bad in the third and fourth quarter.

Hey Tony. Did you go to the game ,and if you did you watch Patrica on the sidelines at all and or can you commont on the Lions sidelines.

I was at the game bro. Patricia looked confused and very very alone. He tends to seperate himself from his staff and players when things go astray I noticed. Head cocked to the side, hands on hips or folded arms and far far away from his team. Extremely odd behaviour.
The players looked glazed over from jump IMO. I'm not going to say they didn't look ready but they didn't really look jacked up. Not much emotion either and after they were getting stomped on they went into a shell and looked shellshocked. It was pretty sad looking...

Dang that is bad.

Bears might be for real.

Looks like it. The wheels have fallen off in Tampa though. I watched some of the highlights....not taking anything away from Trubisky....but TB was not covering guys consistently. Two of his TD?s were to uncovered players.

Either way...their front 7 is scary good. Their back 4 is average.....but that pass rush makes up for it. I wish we had that. We got ZERO pressure yesterday. And even though Lawson and Agnew aren?t great.....they?re being asked to cover guys for 5 and 6 seconds. Yeah, that?s not gonna be good for us.

Ziggy needs to get his ass on the field....and our upcoming draft should be front 7 heavy.

For what it’s worth, Hand has looked pretty good so far, no other real bright spots up front though.

Coaching/scheme transitions + lack of talent (and depth, some of the snap counts make this glaringly obvious) + lackluster DE FA options (contributed to tagging Ansah) led to this current situation. I hope they can rectify it quickly but even heavy drafting up front comes with its own risks and development period. Still think they are at least a couple years away from fixing this, they’re basically building from scratch.

Still not a fan of Trubisky. Even after his huge game...don't trust him if I was a Bears fan..

I wouldn't trust that he's a guy that can carry a team but at least the coaching / playcalling gives him a good chance to succeed.

He doesn't have to be great for them to win. If he can play like Brad Johnson or Trent Dilfer, they could make some noise in the playoffs. Their defense is very good.

It still amazes me why teams, esp. Detroit, doesn't build their defense up. You don't need a top QB to win any more.

Haven't really had a chance in the last 20 or so years. Millen was an incompetent buffoon, then they drafted Stafford at the tail end of the ridiculous rookie contract era. I suppose they could've had a chance by not extending Stafford, but I don't think they were just gonna let him go like that.

Stafford is locked in money-wise until 2021 or so and he'll only be 33 by that point. I'm guessing we don't see a new QB until 2025 unless Stafford's play really drops off.

I'm not saying give away Stafford but every year this team avoids building up the defense. We had the one good year, Suh was here. Maybe a couple decent ones, Suh. This season we went for a OL and a RB and even though I like K. Johnson this offense is no better than last years..
